Hand brake (2 fingers or 1)

I use a 900rr master now, and I have to use two fingers to feel comfortable...My question is if I use a 1000rr master or a brembo after market master will it allow me to use only one finger and still have enough braking power? How many fingers do you all us on the handbrake?

Re: Hand brake (2 fingers or 1)

I also use two fingers, if I use one, I don't feel safe... But i'm planning on beginning with circels, should I use the "1 on the brake, 1 on the clutch" method ?? Or should I just try to circle, and if it stalls and the engine shuts off, to bad, and just deal with it ?

Re: Hand brake (2 fingers or 1)

I use 2 but I'm thinking about going back to 1 finger cause stalling out SS circles is getting old and its scary. I would say that when your learning the hb use 2 cause you will blip it to much and 1 finger wont bring it back down like 2 will.

i know that... im asking why the 03-04 NON-Radial 636 masters work better than non-radial gsxr and r6 masters... thought it was jsut a good bleed job on my first one... but this one (my second HB with 03 636 master) works even better!!!?!?!?!?!?!

maybe it IS just the bleed job or new rotor or whatever?!?!?

i dunno...vertical joe told me they worked awesome. i ran a zx7 hydraulic clutch master and it kinda sucked, although i could do everythin with it. i tried a 1000rr hyd. clutch and it blew, then i tried the 1000rr front master and it is one finger!

pm me back

1000 bucks for the motor, only the motor...if ed is interested, i might be able to drop that a buck or two...maybe

Re: Hand brake (2 fingers or 1)

i have always used a 99-02 r6 front flipped since day one.... no problems, always hooked up, and has never broke. Originally, I did not feel confortable just using one finger for hc scrapes etc, so I always used two, and even for circles...... but about 2 months ago, I started playing with one finger brake, one finger clutch, and it seems to working pretty good...... I agree with the last part of what Mikey D said as well...............

i use a Zx7 clutch master upside down. bill at fullthrottle inc said it works best with his rear master that he sent me.. i like it. i can use one finger no problem. but usually for combos i feel i have a better grip using two.. go figure?

Re: Hand brake (2 fingers or 1)

'02 gsxr 1000 master, dual caliper and i use 2 fingers on the brake. 1 finger is not enough stopping power cuz my muscles are shot on my left arm.
