Stoppie question... Not how to.. about tires
Hey, I just got new tires today.. good ole battleaxes on my FZR.
I put around 100 miles of the tires and maybe 20 of those miles are doing stoppies.
About every other one skids on the road.. it is a pretty good road too. Only getting 1 foot or so but I just started today. I know excuse excuse, but anyhow will they stop skidding after a while? Right now I am leaving rubber marks on the road and it is sorta pissing me off when I skid.
Thanks for replies fellas.

Not to hurry you guys or anything but there are only so many more hours I can be doing stoppies before I have to sleep... so if you know anything, i mean anything, about this thread please respond.

ok um i suck so u can take this advice with a grain of salt if u want. I dont think its ur tire pressure or the fact that the road is cold. I have the same problem and i figured it was my bike or the tires os the road...........................then isaw a budy of mine hop on the bike and roll one at about 40 mph no skid no problems! I noticed that (and so did a few watchin me) im not gettin my forks to bottom out all the way before i grab the brake hard enough to lift the rear so whats happening is that the brake grab is causing the forks to dive further without the rear coming up, which in turn cause me to grab harder thus locking up the front tire and causing the bike to skid instead of cause the rear end to come up! just a thought cause it sounds like u maybe around my skill level on endos. (if ur better than that, which wouldnt be tough, then i apologize for the insult of putting you down at my level! lol)
i have the same problem with my endo's......i too thaught it was the tires cause they were metzler mez4 and those are sport tourer tires. but then i thaught about it and watched people doing them on dirbikes with nobbies and the pic of shugga when he was with loose cannons endoing in the middle of winter so i knew that the mez's werent the problem. i had a buddy watch me and i was doing the same thing as sclevela with the forks. im still practiceing but when i get the forks bottomed it endo's graet and if i dont i slide so i think sclevela is prolly right . good luck
