Re: 636 handbrake ????

i use an up-side-down 636 front brake master. I run the HB on top. If you move your guages over to the right about 1" or 2" it helps a LOT with clearance. Oh i also run FI 0 degree bend Clip-ons that are the ****!!! I LOVE those things! they keep your bars higher which makes riding/tricks easier and more comfortable.

Re: 636 handbrake ????

can you get replacement tubes for those like with vortex? if that's possible, I'm probably gonna get some when I break the ones I have.

yep. you can get them from FI or any replacement tube will work (cause they are all the same diameter).

Re: 636 handbrake ????

if that's the same as turning the clip-ons out straight from the fork tubes, I"m not doing that. if they still sweep back, but stay 'level' then I"ll get some.

Re: 636 handbrake ????

You can turn them in or out as much as you want.......they differ from other clipons because they have no down angle on them........they are straight.

Re: 636 handbrake ????

I'll have to check into those, it's either those or the vortex ones, I've already got an extra set of replacement tubes for the vortex ones though, hopefully they'll fit like John said.

Re: 636 handbrake ????

They will, almost all clipons use a standard 7/8" dia handle bar
I actually buy the round aluminm tube by the foot real cheap and cut to size myself.
check em! I really like how they give you more room for HB setups because of where they start clamping the bars

Re: 636 handbrake ????

most aftermarket clipons are made for racing, where you want to be able to tuck down, so they have a 7-12 degree downward slant built into the design.

On the forks, when you move the clipon back it creates more of a down bend because of the anlge of the forks, and that goes for ALL clipons. However, if you start with 9 degree clipons and the fork adds another 3 degrees, you have a total downbend of 12 degrees, whereas if you start with FI 0 degree, then put them in the same position as the ones before, the FI's would only have a 3 degree downbend. Trust me the FI's are PIMP for stuntriding and i would HIGHLY recommend them to a person that wants to make their streetbike a little more comfortable!

The farther forward you push clipons the less angle the get from from the forks.

I will try to get some pics of the FI setup on here in the next few days.

Oh and yes the vortex (or ANY for that matter) replacement tubes will work, they ara all 7/8" OD.

Pics would be but can you give a general idea where you have them? In relation to stock, are they turned out more, way more(like straight), or are they close to stock?

Thanks again

they are out more than stock but not rediculous... lol

do this, turn the forks all the way to the stop, and adjust the clipons so that there is 4 fingers worth of room between the grip and the tank. then do the same on the other side. That is where mine are, 4 fingers between grip and tank when you turn the bars all the way... hope that gives you a general idea

Re: 636 handbrake ????

Runnin stock clip ons, with a 04 gixxer 600m/c(radial one) on bottom, with a asv clutch perch. Took the round adj thing off the clutch though, so I could push the clutch perch closer to the h/b. Kinda hard to explain.
