What is it worth?

Seriously.

What are you willing to give up for this sport? I know what I have lost for it, what I have gained from it. What I will continue to strive for because of the love for this thing we call a sport.

Maybe I am not the best to put up a thread like this, but I know what I am willing to put on the line for: the love I have for this so called sport.

I have lost girlfriends
I have lost friends
I have lost teammates
I have lost countless dollars
I have lost CAREERS (NOT JOBS)
I have lost PEOPLE that have idolized what we do (do you know what it is like to have a PARENT approach you as a hero of a deceased rider?)

I still have the drive that most don't that have been around since I have. I can't imagine my life being any other way. After a lot of thought I am uprooting myself and moving to warmer weather (this involves a MAJOR career move). Hopefully in a short amount of time I will be in FL enjoying the warm weather. Yet no one knows who I am, nor do I care. I love to ride, I love this sport, I love the people involved. I can't give enough respect to those who have pushed the sport forward. I owe all of you more than I have to offer. To all of the newbies out there killing it and showing me what to strive for; I thank you, you have given me a vision into something I was very pessimistic in regards to seeing this suceeed. To all of those that have been around since 1999 (yeah we were around then believe it or not). I thank you for all you have done. I remember members of this sport traveling for WSRC and I remember driving to the poconos for the first XSBA.

I know what I have sacrificied, what have you done?

Regardless, I hope to meet all of you at SW this year, hopefully I will have caught up with the times by then.

Edit: * holy longest post I have had on SL* Sorry Biker Boy

Re: What is it worth?

This seems like more of an OG thread but ill throw in my :

Ive lost ppl along the way too, ppl that dont understand and those who are waiting on the other side now. As far as family goes...I havent told them I want to get into this sport, same goes for certain ppl I meet since parts of society still frown upon wheelies...henceforth I dont always get to be who I am, I gotta put on a fake front which sux, but right now in my life I dont think I could afford to say "f*ck off everyone"...I used to be in the car scene before this and theres always that beef '4 wheels vs. 2 wheels'...and my boys always used to pick on me saying I'de be too busy out riding to hang out...funny thing is I wasnt the one ignoring calls and hatin behind backs after i got a bike. Money...holy shiet man this sport can make u broke real fast. Money doesnt flow when ur 20, work at the mall, and go to college.

What I have gained...well something that drives me...for a while I didnt want to do **** I had nothing to give me a reason to work other than survive and scrape by, nothing to make me want to stay in shape nothing as an outlet. Now when Im out riding I get to escape from my troubles and worries for several hours and I need that. I had gotten so down almost to the point of being manic-depressant, where ppl told me I needed to seriously get help. This sport brought fun back into my life gave me something to be passionate about. Man I'de prob be one of those kids who sit at coffea shops and cut themselves if it wasnt for riding and stuntin

Re: What is it worth?

Im a no one so this won't mean **** to most of you but heres my 2 cents. For most stunting is not just a sport its a lifestyle... We all choose what we want in life. We all have dreams and inhibitions each one is different. Im not planning on being the next Woods... But we have all sacrificed in our own way. You have prolly sacrificed more than I... But Im a now one so it doesnt matter!

Coin This:
We ride never worry about the fall I guess thats just the stunter in us all!

Re: What is it worth?

ya gotta give shi7 up if you want something, new to the majority, in your life. We are gonna keep killin r selves and r bikes till we get to the top. THATS THE WAY STUNTERS ARE. and I love it!!! stunters are willing to fight for what we want and do things our way. not leting law, people, or some other athority tell us what to do.

Re: What is it worth?

My lost list is shorter then my gained one.. Thats how i know its all worth it.. Can't wait for febuary,, traveling to 3 out of the 4 corners of north America, doing what i love to do.. Vancouver, New york , and Florida . Seen myself on the front page of a news paper stunting for christ sakes.. Bring on the broke, single life. I wouln't trade it for anything.
