Re: frame vin numbers

most frames off ebay with no vins are stolen with the numbers just ground off, probably was a bogus bill of sale. If you can't prove ownership and they impound your bike then say good bye to it because you'll never see it again. They can also still pull the vin off the frame even after it's ground off, when the frame gets stamped it leaves in imprint in the structure of the metal all the way through the frame, so if it was indeed stolen and they tested it you could very well get screwed for it. You can actually get around this though by taking a punch and a hammer and going at it, and then just grinding the indentations off again. I still wouldn't do it though, most cops know stunters are synonymous with stolen **** and if they see your bike with no vin i guarantee they'll impound it, i'm also pretty sure bill of sale is not enough to prove ownership either unless the previous owner can prove ownership.

Re: frame vin numbers

Ive seen bikes with all kinds of numbers
a 929 with f3 numbers
numbers soo poorly stamped that they dont follow a straight line
most cops are too stupid to figure out "stamped bikes"

however, I would dump that sht in the bottom of the river cuz legitimate parts are cheap and yull be able too ride without thinking...."sht i hope i never get pulled over"........

here is one night when we got sht from 5.0
