Re: Stuntwars 2006 New Payouts & Events
Lakeland track
Lakeland is what it is, there was a time and still is that most tracks don't want anything to do with Streetbike freestyle. Lakeland is a good location for Central Florida, between Tampa and Orlando, and has been going for 5 years. We are setting other locations as we speak, and yes we are choosing better tracks.
The bottom line is that all the Stuntwars locations will be different, some better than others, and if you are a so called pro you will be able to adapt and do the best that you can. Everyone will have the same disadvantage.
The $5 to practice is all about the owner and insurance for those days. He lets anyone practice free weekly on wednesdays. During Stuntwars week there are to many people so he has staff and insurance on those days.
What people dont know is that Todd is not the only one here, we don't rent the track and the make all this money like everyone thinks. The track owner is our partner with Lakeland. Any money that Stuntwars inc. makes goes into the business and is used for the next event, marketing, track rental, insurance, staff, payouts if nobody shows everyone still gets paid.

How much are tickets to get in this year? Is it $25 for 3 days like last year?
Another question--does anybody in here ACTUALLY compete just for the money? Does'nt look like much $$$ to me considering the amount of people that go and the cost of tickets per head but maybe that's just me-I bet most of those payouts will pay for the gas and lodging just to go to Lakeland---(Those of us not in Florida)-I'm still going for the fun and all tha cool peeps-can't wait!

Dont get me wrong I like it too, fun to watch for sure...
But I just think the winnings should be maybe some free gear donated by a sponsor maybe, just do not think the money justifies the time and effort that most of these "teams" actually put into there routine, due to the fact that they dont ride together normally...Throw that 5g's into Indi-Freestyle, stoppie, and sickest trick, thats where its more deserved I think
