everwhere you go officers of the law are held higher socially... its just the way it is....
I think the cop used bad judgement... He had beyond reasonable doubt... he could have gotten the tags and knocked on his door at 3 in the morning and hauled him off!

c'mon, any chase at 100+mph is ALWAYS a lose-lose situation. Is it even worth it? If the chase exceeds 100mph, CALL IT OFF!!!...have we learned nothing??? thank god I'm off the streets and strickly lot...for nowbtw...30yr sentence = BS
RIP...for both
Re: Guy runs from cop, cop dies, biker gets 30yr
I have no sypathy what-so-ever for the cop or his family. He made a chioce and paid the price. It was not the riders fault that the cop was an idiot and continued in a dangerous pursuit..... I feel really bad for the rider though, hope he gets out soon.

Its a state to state thing
Re: Guy runs from cop, cop dies, biker gets 30yr
he needs to ask for an appeal. The officer was not justified in his actions. radio or whatever. If the police officer would have hit a family and killed them it would have been his fault no one made him do that speed. Hell they caught him later anyway so what was the point in making the situation dangerous for? I am usualy on the police side but this was the officers fault
Re: Guy runs from cop, cop dies, biker gets 30yr
Everyones just lookin to point the finger, in this case the rider gets fawked. The shitty thing is even if the guy does some how get off the 30yr sentance...all the cops buddies are gonna make his life hell.
Re: Guy runs from cop, cop dies, biker gets 30yr
It isn't Williams fault offy haywood couldn't hang. So since it was a cop that crashed and died as a result of williams travelling at a high rate of speed...william's life is f-cked. That's a ****** cop out of an excuse if you ask me. Hmmm is that why they call it a "cop out?" FTP through and through. hell....this guy is done for life...let's flip the script and set up a scenario.
So officer Haywood killed 2 other people on a bike while chasing williams and that's where the chase ended.
So if williams got caught he does 30 anyways because it's his fault....haywood's **** doesn't stink either way. I'm disgusted.

Re: Guy runs from cop, cop dies, biker gets 30yr
ah he'll get out on an appeal, this knee-jerk sentencing **** had to happen cuz of the extreme pressure on the judge.
theres NO WAY its gonna stick
theres NO WAY its gonna stick
Re: Guy runs from cop, cop dies, biker gets 30yr
I can't help but laugh.
'No one made him chase the bike, it's all his fault!'
Yet someone on a bike dies while running from the cops most of your responses are
'Man! FTP, he shouldnt of been chasing him, its the cops fault!'
Seems kinda hypocritcal to me.
Yes, 30 years if plain fuxin ridiculous, and he doesn't deserve that time, but he should get something. A cop's life is ended because he was chasing a LAW BREAKER. Why is that so hard for some people to understand?
I had to put up with this **** the other day. A couple kids from my school stole a car and ran from the cops, ended up crashing on a bridge with one of them getting killed. I heard 'its the cops fault, they did it cause they were black, they shouldnt of been chasin them!'
You guys would agree that that's bullshit. But since this dude is on a bike it's the cops fault.

In my previous post I'm just saying it's ridiculous how some people are all gung ho on blaming the cops for everything. I think the guy should get something, definitly not 30 years, but something more then an evading polive and a speeding ticket.
Look at it this way..And I realize it's a lot worse then just running from the cops, but maybe will give you a better idea of what I am talking about.
You shoot someone...But the bullet passed through and hit someone else. now, your intent was only to shoot one person, but you hit 2 people. Think you can say 'well I just meant to hit 1 person!' and get off easier? Nope. Same goes for running. Your original intent was to get away, but your actions caused someone else to die. Now you gotta pay the price. Shouldnt be 30 years though...

So, you are a criminal justice major and soon to be LEO? How cute. Newsflash: Nobody gives a f u c k and hopefully you break your neck once you fall off your high horse.
As for the thread, it is complete bullshit no matter how you look at it. The rider was evading, so charge him with evading. The officer died doing his job, maybe he (and his lovely wife) should have realized that being a LEO is fairly dangerous and that the chances of dieing are high.
If I steal an item from a store and a LEO chases me on foot and suffers a heart attack and dies. Should I deserve 30 years in prison? The point is: The logic of the rulling is horse ****.
If the dude has a lawyer worth a damn and appeals, he should either; get his sentence reduced, or have the case thrown out.
