hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
I know that everyone covers the clutch whan doind slow **** and circles... I have mine slowed down enough to try and turn into a circle but for some reason I can not keep my finger on the clutch.. It feels like I won't be able to hold on.. Is this one of those things that I have to just get used too and practice on, or I am doing something wrong..... Maybe i should stop holding on as if my life depended on it and relax my grip...
Re: hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
Every day do 10 pull ups, but do them without your left index finger. In 1 week the rest of your fingers will be strong enough to hold you on an upright bike.
Re: hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
Just stick with it I used to have the same problem and thought I could never do it........Now its natural and Ive always got 1 finger on the clutch. You just gotta keep trying and it will come to you........
Re: hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
try moving the clutch lever a bit down... When the lever it more up,, when the bike is doing a whuulie the lever is actually stright up overtop the the handlebar which makes it hard to reach.. Lower the clutch lever so when the wheel is in the air the lever is more infront of you... I had this problem when i put my handbrake on because the lever was soo high what my middle finger was half on and half off the grip because my clutch finger had to reach so far for the clutch... Im sure that will help !!
Re: hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
when i started off racing motocross my dad used to take a rubberband and rap it around the lever then my finger so i wouldnt pull it off with out relizing it maybe this will work for u give it a try
Re: hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
adding to moving the lever post, you can move it inward (toward the midde of your HB)also and this actually gives you more leverage because youre pulling at the end of the lever. Also if you ride street, always keep one finger on the clutch and one on the brake for day to day riding and it will be second nature soon. Im so used to it I have one finger on the front brake while doing Fway wheelies (not really necessary).
Re: hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
I Ride With A Finger On Each Lever While Riding...always Have But, When I Wheelie I Seem To Always Take My Finger Off The Clutch...yea It Sucks When You Stall It Out And Rack Your Nuts In The Tank But I'll Figure It Out
Re: hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
just do what Z said.... rubber bands.. bahhhhhh
go practice some coasters or somethin.... thatll force you to have the finger on there....

Re: hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
I just clutch up with 1 finger and keep it there, doesn't bother me at all. Then again, I have like XXL hands. Hell I've got my clutch up so high it's a difficult task in some positions to get my finger off and onto the HB.
Re: hard to keep finger on clutch..HELP
get "msr raptor" perch and lever or u can get easy pull. if u got girl fingers
lol also if your clutch lever is 2 high up it's gonna be hard to pull it in,cuz in wheelie your wrist is twisted up and really hard to get finger off the clutch.besides u should be able do 3-4 circles without a clutch anyway.
