I have a rear steel braided line on my bike right now and I was wondering if anyone else runs one. I think it sucks. Its either all or none. You have to push it hard for it to work or it wont work at all. I dont like it for slowing down wheelies. I am thinking about putting a stock line on. Does anyone run a rear steel braid? It could just be me and it could just be all in my head but I wanted to see if anyone else agrees with me.

 

my buddy has a steel braid on his 900rr at the rear and just last night he was saying how it wasnt working good...i was thinking about going steel braid but im not sure now...also it seems you dont need a powerful rear brake in 12ves anyways...but when your learning its a nice confidence booster so you know your coming back to ground level . Im not sure if hes having same prob as you though i just remember he complained about it other night. I have stock line on my 900rr and although the rear break doesnt bite hard it works fine...im gonna leave it.

 

some think my steel braid line is too touchy for 12's. I have no probs with it though. My **** stops or slows down with little input.

 

i had a steel line on my 96 RR and it sucked...it did exactly what u said all or nuttin. so i swapped it out for a stocker and it was minty.

 

I have steel braided lines now. I like them. They can be touchy.

 

The main purpose for Steel lines in the rear is to absurb the heat. The stock line will easily over heat and cause the lines to expand. This will cause air to get into the line, which will result in "Squishy" brakes. You also want to be sure to put in Top of The Line brake fluid with a High boiling rate.

 

I RUN STOCK I LIKE TO HAVE A LITTLE PLAY IN THE LINE BUT YOU CAN GET BRAKE FADE WITH THE STOCK LINE
