How fast were you going, In some states you only have to have eye protection at like 35+ mph so if you were just pulling out you possibly hadnt exceeded that yet. Also, in states without helmet laws, the law usually states eye protection such as glasses or must wear helmet but doesnt say a damn thing about the visor being in any position. You could fight it.
Re: no more respect for police
With a good lawyer and a couple legitimate witnesses and you should atleast get their jobs if it went down as you said. If that damage to your eye/ear is permenant you should be looking into getting a fat check curtousy of the state of mass. their will be issues since you hit his bike that will make his actions perceivable to a gullable jury so the key is a good lawyer and several reputable (unbiased) witnesses.. Good Luck
Re: no more respect for police
I will throw my .02 in the mix.
1. If you run, you deserve any punishment you recieve. (as long as that punishment is within the confinds of the laws.)
2. Being assaulted by a police officer after you are caught, pull over, and appear cooperative with the police is NOT appropriate.
I am taking a few things into my ideas.
#1. the officer failed to identify himself as a law enforcement officer, also failed to turn on his lights and siren.
#2. you were not given the chance to pull over... from your story, he was in an unmarked car, pulled in front of you, and slammed on his brakes.
#3. you were supposidly hit in the head and chest, etc. with his flash-light. If you had been in your gear (Helmet, Jacket, gloves), that wouldn't have been an issue (or at least not THAT much of one).
I think you were done wrong... but there are many events and possabilities that you left open and didn't mention.
If you break the law, regardless of whether or not you agree with it, you should be willing and prepared to accept the consequences of your actions.
From your story (unless some things happened that you failed to mention) you appear to have done a wheelie, and been wronged. but didn't do anything to deserve a beating like you have mentioned.
So... lets hear the details. what really happened? was it unmarked car? no lights? how long did you ride after he identified himself as an officer? etc. etc.
If your wanting people to stand with you on this situation let us know more details.

Re: no more respect for police
after the point of me pulling over i removed my helmet i was only wearing a t shirt and shorts he didnt ask for i d or nothing he was rinning at me so i put my hands up he then hit me with the flashlight across the chest knocking me over my bike backwards causeing me to land on my knees on the opposite side of the bike. i laid down with my hands on my head he put me into handcuffs and then kicked me in the face. my brother was like whyed you kik him in the face and he also got a boot to the chin. i was doing a wheelie we both were but the pig never turned his lights on till after he had ran us both off of the road. i found out that this officer has done stuff like this before and was already suspended for it. i was only a wise *** after i repeatedly got hit in the side and back of the head numerous times. and then at the station i was punched in the stomach. i could have resisted if i wanted to but then i wouldnt be upset about this cause i would have gotten away. i have no need to bullshit about anyof this and i would put the police report on here but it iss totall crap he made himself look like nothing happened and he left out the beating part and the part that he ran us off the road. now in the report it says that i tried to flee to the right now i thought in this country when you are pulled over you pull over to the right i have never had a problem with that b4 but i guess this guy had something wrong with him cause i have never been in trouble like this and i have never done anything to deserve what happend to me or my brother. stand with me if you want i explained what happend twice you either believe me or you dont all i know is the pigs screwed up huge and they will regret it in the long run. they dont understand that we arent out there hurting people or selling drugs or beating women so whats the big deal!!!!!!! there was minimal traffic on the roadway so i wasnt puttin anyone else in danger this is just a case of a lil old pig who is mad at the world so he took it out on me. there are audio and video tapes from both the cruisers and the po station so i am allset. i just dont want this to happen to anyof you cause it sucks really bad i had to explain to my daughter why my face and chest was all messed up thats not cool cause she said daddy i thought police are supposed to help you so i meanthis didnt just affect me it affects alot of people thanks for everyones support my next court date is nov 11 so keep postin and i will let everyone know how the case is going sorry if this was a bunch of babbling but it obviously upsets me thanks again everyone!

Re: no more respect for police
yup **** yeah. if he beat you with a maglight.....i dont even know what to say....if he has been suspended for this before, get a decent lawyer and sue his ***. **** some vigilante bullshit. I would get statements from whatever doctors checked you out right afterwards, and if none did, go get checked out immeadiately and get that recorded for evidence.....
Re: no more respect for police
If he really did all that and you have witnesses and a dash cam recording...you're ****ing rich. Seriously, he caused permanent damage to your hearing and vision, the state owes you huge money bags. Now do right and get them.
And for the record, I wish bad things on this pig and his family.

Re: no more respect for police
Now that you gave the details, I agree that you didn't deserve ANY thing you got. no legal justification can be made for the abuse you recieved.
don't go after them with the mindset of "I'm gonna get rich outta this" go after them with the thought of "I want to wake up the PD so that this officer, and any other officers like him won't put someone else through the **** i've been put through!"
you may be suprised... but judges and jury's can tell if your out for cash, or out to make a difference. ... Try to make a difference, you'll come out way ahead.
Hope things work out for ya and you get better.

Re: no more respect for police
i am not going out with the mindset of getting rich. i just want them to realize that i wasnt doing anything that bad. i didnt deserve what i got. i want him to lose his job and then in the future i get a crack at him but with out the cuffs or maglite. he doesnt deserve the job he has and he cant handle the excitment that comes with it. what if he "thought" i had a gun maybe i wouldnt have been able to tell what happend from my side of the story. the streets arent "Safe" with him on the job cause he is crazy so i dont want money just whats right_-jroll
Re: no more respect for police
Ya dude, I'm in brockton but am regularly on 24, 128, 95, and there are so many ******* staties out here. My FRIEND was going down 24 at like 75 and saw a statie on the side with the lights on and someone pulled over, so he slowed down to 65-70 or so, middle of the night so there was hardly any traffic, and up ahead there was another statie that turned the lights on and was pulling over to the side of the road behind the first cruiser. So anyways even though they were over on the other side of the road everyone gets nervous when they see a cop, so he dropped down into 4th just incase. as he goes by the cruiser that was pulling off to the side swerved ****ing HARD at the bike, ****ing trying to sideswipe the bike, as he was coming my friend saw him and swerved and pinned it, but the cop still came within a foot or two of hitting the bike. Dropped into 3rd at about 80 and was outa there. Both cops came after em' even though he was out. But when he crested a hill there were a few MORE of them already with the lights on up ahead. Went by them at about 175 and the one closest to swerved over and nearly took the rear tire out. After that he was gone but FTP, do they really think that because we're on a motorcycle they should try to swerve and kill us?
I can see swerving at an armed robber escaping from a bank on a motorcycle, but they know that that guy with on AK-47 on his back is a threat to society, do they really think a motorcycle doing 15 over the posted speed limit on a 3 lane straightaway with no traffic is a threat to anyone?

Re: no more respect for police
brokton aint that far we got a sic lot you should get ahold of me rui929cracka@aol.com we can ride
Re: no more respect for police
well my 2 cents FTP all of them.. yeah there might be a few good men on the force, but they are far and few.. they think that they are above the law like you know when you see a cop turn on his lights just to go through a red light and then shut them off.. you see cops doing 60 in a 45 or 80 in a 55 but yet they will pull you over for doing the same..they talk about us endangering everyones lives when we run... but yet they will chase us instead of just letting us go so that they can protect everyone else....most of the time we (stuntriders/crotchrockets) run it is for a misdemeanor charge.. it is not like we just killed somebody so why chase us??? if they see that we are going to run if they were out to protect and serve they would say **** it and not endanger more lives than they have too....and let us go... on the other hand I have heard cops say that if we don't pullover they will take us out..how ****ed up is that they think they have the right to take our lives just for riding a wheelie....that is far from protecting and serving in our communities...i dont know about the rest of you but most of our riding is done in controlled enviornments and yet they make it a point to come **** with you anyway... lets see bikes wait no crotchrockets in an empty parking lot away from society and a cop spots them stunting instead of oh there is a rider with some respect to keep it off the streets away from everyone its lets go see how bad we can **** with him for trying to do the right thing.... and if he tries to take off we will just clip him and see how bad we can **** him up.... its sad to say that this is the same law enforcement that we are brought up and taught to respect... fuuucckkk that .... show me a law enforcement that is worth respecting first.. protect and serve my *** ... more like pull over and harrass every chance they get.. why pull over the consequence for running is not any worse usually than if you would have pulled over... cause i have pulled over several times before and got impounded fleeing even though i pulled over reckless driving speeding etc... so why pull over you are going down either way so might as well try to get away...... thats like saying just stand there and let this guy slap the **** out of you but don't try and block it.....well thats my 2 cents or $2.00 worth
