Anyone park a V-twin 12'n ?

RC51, TL, VFR, SV, Duc, etc... anyone park it and turned it off? I wonder if the rear cylinder gets flooded with oil and when you restart it, it blows all the seals in the head or not start at all since you can't compress oil. I know guys scrape V-twins, but would it be safe to park it and shut it off?

I'm scared to try it, SV1000 engine parts are not cheap.

Dizzo from scooter trash stunts a SV650, when the motor isn't blowing up. His **** is knocking now. 6 motors in 2 short michigan riding seasons.

Yeh, :YEAH Dizzo got it down. But 12'n and parkin' it is two different things. Once you shut off the engine, gravity takes and fluids flood wherever they can, possibly the rear bore. I'm thinking of getting rid of the SV for that reason and get the new Kawi 650R verticle twin.

That looks like an expensive rear set to replace.

Buddy of mine just blew his sv650 motor on a stupid mile long highway wheelie... well blew his rings in one cylinder anyway.

Dude, what are you talkin' about??? SV will wheelie better that any bike I've ever seen under 1000cc. Stock, 5th gear standups, 3rd gear highchairs, let's see an F4i do that without a little help of a few teeth on the rear sprocket. I ran Silkolene 10W40 in mine and got 38,000 miles before I blew it up. I got a good year out of it. Maybe I got lucky, but good oil helps.

Probably a good reason to that......I blew my motor after riding one about 2 miles. Just went. Can't handle them in the fact that the oil pickups in the front of the motor, but for some reason, the 03 and above models last a little longer.

5 quarts. Can't tell when the knockin' started, I always had music on, but once I broke the 2 mile marker the thing lasted about 2 to 3k miles. Till than it ran like a champ and took the hits well. What's D-Aces website?

I did have a buddy here who rode with School of Ruckus, had a SV1000. Last I knew his bike was jacked up. But he would kill 'em.

Re: Anyone park a V-twin 12'n ?

I use a KTM 990 Superduke for doing stunts. It has got a dry sump, so it is no problem making vertical wheelie. The SV 650 and 1000 has got wet sump, you have to modificate the oil pump to do vertical wheelies, or it will die. The problem is not the oil goes into the rear cilindre, but the oil goes in the rear place of the carter, so the oil pumps head will not be in the oil bath in this case.
The Ducatis and Buells has got dry sump too, by the Buell you have to modificate a small thing in the oil tank.

Re: Anyone park a V-twin 12'n ?

had a few of those, they ar nice but I prefer the crackling sound of my bike as opposed to a zipper sound. And got tired of spending $35 for 4 spark plugs where all I need now is 2. Cops think it's a HD comin' down the road so their guards are down.
