I run either Pirelli or Metzeler. The only thing I really care about is whether it's a race compound or not. Once the race compounds are heated up you'll never lock up a front tire again. Truthfully though its all about personal preference. Find something you like and stick with it.

Exactly... I will only run Michellin pilot sport for my front tire. Never have had any problems with it.

Fellas come on now Avon AV39's hook up great thats all I use, and joe is right on the PSI 28 good for 1001 footers hehehe, everyone has their own comfort level on the type of tires to use all the tires that Joe, Jason and thew are using are deff. good choices roll anyone of these tires and your fine.

Well, because it seems I'm the only cat on here posting from New England I would say Avon AV39 or the new AV49. The temps drop around here and this tire still hooks up. I went for a ride the other day and rolled at 65-75mph and it was 35 degrees out. I've ridden on Pilot Sports, 010's, F1's, and BY FAR the Avon's hook up the best. The only problem with the Avon's..... they wear quick. Avon's aren't expensive so I never shake a stick at replacing. Good Luck!!

Thanks for the good info, it's cold here too in Chicago (well it was anyways)....which AV49? Pro-extreme, sport, or pro-series do you use or recommend? Thanks.

edit: looks like the sport is the only good one for dry and wet so I'll have to stick with that one

Well, I haven't tried out the AV49 because I still buy the AV39. I try not to fix something that isn't broken I'm pretty sure I get the SuperSport Compound.

Avon
AV-39 Sport II
(Supersports aren't as good)
Don't get the low profile tire, make sure it matches your stock tire numbers!

25-28psi and it'll never ever slide, even in artic conditions!

Yeah... what he said. I wasn't sure. Johnny used to order them for me. He knows fo' sho. If Johnny says Sport II's, then that is the tire.
