Can anyone 12 a 125 2 stroke

I was messing around the other day on my cr125 and can scrape the fender pretty easily.. I havent learned the brake yet so I cant stay up there..

Has anyone been able to do this on a 2 stroke... I know it would be alot easier with a 4 stroke but i was just curious if it would be worth practicing on

Re: Can anyone 12 a 125 2 stroke

yes they can

but if you are scraping tail and riding away on a 2-stroke (less engine braking) WITHOUT the rear brake i'd like to know how!

or do you mean you touch it, smash the rear brake and come right down... and you want to "learn the rear brake" meaning learn how to use it to STAY up near 12 while cruising along?!?!

Re: Can anyone 12 a 125 2 stroke

Well Ill clutch it up from a dead stop.. really yank it up.. then ill be 12 maybe even further cause sometimes ill touch the rear fender.. but then I either get nervous and hit the brake sending me straight down or my feet will come off the pegs and Ill just jump off.... I know what you mean about less engine braking.. its more like NO engine braking at all because once I get up there and let go of the throttle the bike dosnt move at all it just stays up there. But I cant ride them out yet cause I dont know what to do once Im up there. My chain was very very loose maybe thats why I felt NO engine braking what so ever.. it really felt like the bike frooze in mid air... any suggestions? should I be riding the brake and gas at the same time or should I only use the brake to catch me from going to far back...?

Re: Can anyone 12 a 125 2 stroke

So yea I want to know how to ride near 12 or 12 while cruising along at a slow speed..maybe even shifting a few gears..are super slow wheelies even possible.?.

I noticed that on\off the throttle works better then being smooth like on the street bike or 4 stroke..

Does anyone know of any videos of people 12' a 2 stroke dirtbike?.. I see 4 strokes all the time just wondering why no one uses 2 stroke... they are so much lighter and easier to throw around...

I'd have to actually go through my entire MX video collection to find which ones(which) I don't plan on doing....But yes there are videos that have such acts....Also if you get a chance to catch an fmx demo locally, most of these guys are rocking slow vertical wheelies nowadays to keep the crowd entertained. Pppppppppractice

If you want to see someone 12 an mx bike watch the go hard boys segment of the seminal Drew Stone film "12 o'clock". It is also in the bonus footage of the black sheep squadron. It's done on the streets of New York City by a guy wearing basketball shorts and to this day I enjoy seeing it.

i have a cr 60 and i am doing standups on it, not too hard but just a couple weeks ago i put pegs onto my rear axle and standups are easy on them and i am goin for circles but its hard for a two-stroke because of the power band, i can not do 12's because my fender is shaved smaller lol

Re: Can anyone 12 a 125 2 stroke

even the 4 stroke 125's have next to no engine brake, the 256 north guys can scrape their XR650 motard's exhasut......which is underneath the tail plastic, waaaay behind 12....

they also can scrape their TTR 125's

http://www.uponone.com/videos.php?id=3411

you can scrape just about anything with a rear brake...

the on/off throttle works well becuase the engine doesn't make nearly as much power or engine brake as a streetbike.

you use that method for 4 strokes to until you get up higher into the CC's

about 12, there is a certain point where you will not be speeding up or slowing down, which is called balance point....

when your doing a very slow wheelie (5mph and less) the BP is very high because the bike is generating no lift

when doing wheelies at highway speeds (60-75mph) the frontal area of the bike is creating an upward drag, thus the BP is lower because more of the frontal weight is held up by wind resistance.

if your behind BP, and your using the brake to keep from looping, you are slowing down, you cannot simply ride an endless wheelie at 12 o'clock..

if your below BP and the wheelie is still up, your speeding up, if your behind BP and the wheelie hasn't looped out, your slowing down

getting a slow wheelie down on a 2 stroke 125 requires both brake and throttle control......#1 thing is practice....

yep... 2-stroke, 4-stroke it doesn't matter.... cr500 or xr50 ... it's all the same there is really only one right way to learn scrapes. Anytime you scrape the clutch should be disengaged. There is absolutly no reason to scrape tail with the clutch engaged. Why would you want to fight the engine with the rear brake???? Your just gonna end up picking your *** off the ground if your try fighting the throttle with the brake while learning. I'd tell someone to learn coasters first before they even thought about scraping

yeah and the only time this theory is wrong is on a sportbike with a handbrake and your scraping spreaders, seatstanders, highchairs etc. Thats really the only time you need to scrape on power.
