Check it....

I just got finished reading some of the posts on S.W. and like alot of people I don't think that this was good exposure for stunt riding. The simple fact is although these stunters that put on the show and are affiliated with it and may love the life style and actually have alot to do with how far it has come so far, but the entire thing is about $$$.So what did you expect.

The whole thing got me thinking of what we feel is going to happen to the "sport" ,will it go main stream, get corprate sponsorship, possibly sanctioned by the X-games. I would love to see this happen, and hey it might. We all have to remember where we started this, on a highway some where doin 100mph on the back tire screaming past minivans and what ever that streak was that looked like a cop. The whole point of a wheelie is to show off. We all know that it is not a question of will we go down but when. You really think they are gonna put some thing that could condone things like this in main stream. We all have seen the news reports about stunters, none of it good.

The event put on was to make money, any event produced is to make money. you think they really care if the "sport" gets the proper representation, yea right. Almost every post I read talked about the town being demolished. Once agian what did you expect . Ok lets get a few thousand of the sickest riders and their friends together for a weekend (we all know what most of us do when we get down.) The point I'am trying to get across is that I think alot of peoples expectations for stunting is to high. Chill...get back to the root the fun and the reason we all bought our first bike chicks.

I love this lifestyle it is mine. Evidently there is alot of us that feel the same way ,or you would not even be reading this right now. I 'am not bashing just being honest and stating my opinion. This is not just from the S.W. posts this applies to alot of things I have read since I signed up. Teach's thread just got me going. I ain't stopping though

later :YEAH

Hey Mike I scream "Praise the mighty lord Jesus, savior of my soul" when i ride.....cause if it wasnt for him id probably be dead instead of straight killin it on my motorcycle with gears.....
I belive stunting should be used for doing good and all not just about fame and fortune.I mean its a God given talent to some people so they should be thankfull for it and show it....if not ,well like all fires they will burn out eventually. Im not tryin to tell anyone what to do or judge them , just tryin to open afew eyes, thats all.

Since I know you and noone should ever question your faith, or anyone else's for that matter, I got a suggestion. You wanna make this sport grow, get some real exposure, and some real big name sponsors? How 'bout you get some of the stunters together and do a benefit (like a telethon) for the tsunami victims..........That seems to be the hot ticket right now.......I know this might hurt but here goes.. With A L L the funds being donated to the victims of the tsunami. We missed out on doing one for the 9/11 tragedy, so that would be doing something good......Btw......make it an invite only event for the participants and maybe, just maybe most of the extra BS won't come with them.............Just an observation....................Free C...

But the problem is people like to stereotype and generalize. If they see some guy on a bike throw a bowling ball through someones windshield, then all of a sudden all sport bike riders are hoodlums. YOU KNOW that stunting doesn't make you a good or bad person, but then again you are right in the thick of things, and involved with the community. You have to consider someone who knows NOTHING about the sports point of view.

Re: Check it....

I dont know why people have this hang-up about setting up a respectable image for stunting to get into the mainstream. rock and Gansta rap has never tried to clean up its act and its business has never been better. Look at Motocross with the Metal Mulisa (cant spell) and skateboarding with the Red Dragons. People want to see other people making a living by there own means and living life by ther own means.

I quote from Harold and Kumar go to White Castle
:YEAH EXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :YEAH LETS GO GET SOME FU@KING MOUNTAIN DEW!!!!!!

Re: Check it....

ya, stuntriding doesn't need a good image, it might be nice, but not necessary......also..you know what they say, there is no bad publicity

Re: Check it....

i agree that some of the acts i heard about from SW were a little out of control but look at bikeweek and ****, it gets out of hand too. bikers have always had the image of badasses and troublemakers, i dont see that changing anytime soon. the one thing that really sounded shitty from stunt wars was how the MC was cursing and asking girls to show their ***** on the mic. there is little kids and ****, no need for that. keep the cursing off the mic, ya know
