I think poeple shouldn't idolize someone who does something many poeple do, and jsut HAPPENED to get on discovery channel. Put almost ANY bike builder on TV and they'll make millions. been proven 3 times.

of course, i don't care what poeple make, as long as they know that your never gonna hit a point where your welds are PERFECT. NEVER. everyone makes mistakes, so id not' care if your takeing 4 peices of steel sheet and trying to weld it into a tube. as long as your getting better, GOOD

Re: stunting and welding?

I can mig, tig and arc weld. The problem is that all the welders are at work. Depending on what it is I can just take it to work with me and do it. Anything else like a frame I would have to bring it in on my off time and do it. Phuk that!! It's an anodizing shop. I can also dye it just about any color I want. that's cool.

Re: stunting and welding?

I don't see it being too diffcult of a skill to have but I just never grew up around that kind of thing. My pops was an alarm systems installer and owned his own business. I know how to solder and wire things up and am pretty good with electronics thanks to him but never into welding.

P.s. - Anyone wanna teach me?

Re: stunting and welding?

I've made both my crash cage and 12 bar. Spent about 30 bucks on both of them together. There's nothing to mig welding. Just get the right settings, and point and shoot.

Re: stunting and welding?

once you get the hang of welding it gets easier. It also depends on the type of welding your doing. Like a wirefeed mig welder, welding steel is probably the easiest kind. but once you start trying to weld aluminum it is a bit harder to do the right way. then you have a tig welder which can get kinda confusing when you have the arc in one hand the wire in another and if you have a foot pedal arc controller. But just like anything (Stunting) you practice enough you will evetually show improvement.

Re: stunting and welding?

I can Mig, Tig, Arc and braze. It was part of a course that was mandatory in order for me to get my aircraft maintenace license. They're not perfect looking, but they hold up to my abuse, and its help'd me make some money doing custom turbo fab jobs on a few mustangs, camaro's and a T-bucket. I've tried welding aluminum a few times, and that's alot harder than it looks, but i just haven't had enough practice on it, so i let a local place weld all my aluminum stuff.

that really depends on the welding. Mig, is probably the easiest, then comes gas, stick, and tig.

no offense, but I'd like to see two peices of titanium brazed together, and have the same strenght as a high qaulity TIG weld.
