Do you trim the lever on the hand brake?

Seems like you would want it long to produce more pressure, but its gonna break first time i drop the bike.

i forgot to cut mine and I dropped my bike pretty hard and it trimmed itself perfectly. I was lucky.

i dont' trim mine and i haven't had it break off yet. mine is a 94 900rr lever and it seems pretty short to begin with.

Didnt trim mine, I like it long for leverage. Just dont crash and youre all set

note - Having the same type of master helps, cause if you break one, you can swap and still have a front/handy! Ive done this before.

Got bar end sliders and dropped mine once and no broken lever ? But the bike was parked when it fell ! Leverage is good if you like stoppies.

i have my front brake trimmed, havent gotten around to doing the clutch yet..id rather trim some off rather than risk it breaking off from a drop or crash.

Or you can just put a notch in the backside of the lever so if it does fall and hits the lever, it will only break off at the notch.

Re: Do you trim the lever on the hand brake?

on some crashes the bike likes to "highside" on the cage and fall over onto the tank, exhaust clipons etc etc thats when they can bend/break
