Your Opinoin Matters.......

What are the main reasons your influenced to buy a stunt video???

1-Reputation of the group

2-Cost

3-Apperance

4-Referral

5-Music

We are the ones who buy these vids, What would you like to see more of or have complaints about as far as new Stunt Vids coming out???

To me personally I think music and reputation have a lot to do with it.

For Ex:
Zanmann - "Let me know, Ay Ay Ay"

KCMW - "this is kansas city let me show you how we do it"

Outermost -"You gotta breathe"

Meacham - "Freakalique"

Jason Britton -"Regulators"

Almost everyone should know what I'm talking about, you can relate and you remember this sh*t.........

3, and 5, Gotta spice it up a little too, after not being around for some time due to a little globe trotting on my part I was a little bummed to find that all the "new" vid's really didn't have anything new in them, just differant people doing the same stuff. Or did I miss a vid somewhere?

Re: Your Opinoin Matters.......

$26 for a 40min video is a bit pricey, but then again, there marketing to a select group, and you can't expect then to charge $15 for the same vid, cause they don't sell to as many people, so price isn't really something i worry about.

Music and Content. There's nothing that'll get my blood pumpin more than seein someone bustin out some sick stoppies, highchair O's, or some circle wheelies to a good beat.. makes me wanna go out and bust my @ss to figure em out.

Re: Your Opinoin Matters.......

I'm a big stunt video buyer lately. I have about 30 on the shelf now. The reason I buy them are 1/2 rider/group reputation and 1/2 a good trailer.

I know who I like to watch, and then who I can't stand to see on my TV. The best DVD's I own are Servin it up 1&2, the stone bros. collection(12:00 & Urban #1 & #2) and the 2 Stunt USA flicks. Haven't got FT4 yet, but it looks amazing.

As for music, the way of life soundtack is proably the best mix of 'gangsta' beats I've heard yet. Servin it up 2 takes best music by non-A list artists for sure.

DVD's I would love to see come out......

Its justified for what it costs to make a limited run of DVD's. I have no problem forking out the $24.95 or whatever it is for some good entertainment. I am a little dissapointed when I get a crappy vid in the mail though....

I like to know who I am watching. Comedy is great. Circles are boring when you see them over and over. Be diverse with your music. Have somebody who knows what they are doing do all the editing. I can hook you up with someone who has alot of talent if you would like.

Re: Your Opinoin Matters.......

music first.

I can't stand to watch a video with some shitty rap. GOOD rap ont he other hand is cool, like OM's use of "sly boogie"

but it's mainly heavy metal that attracts me. About a year ago i bought my first stunt DVD, "road rage 2" basically, the three segments i liked was the DTE, SF, and the last segment of SBF. they had music i liked, and i could "jam" too.

Re: Your Opinoin Matters.......

No Offense, but stunt riders are not the market that most teams would like to sell there videos too, for many reasons

1. You all are mostly poor, broke, or your head is to big to shell out 25 dollars to support another team
2. You expect the DVD's for free, so instead of offering to buy first, you ask for a free copy first.
3. You all think your better than everyone else, so when you buy or get your hands on a dvd you instantly criticize it and bash it or tell people it sux
4. You dont even bother cause your jealous that your DVD isnt out yet.

dont get me wrong i love this sport and everybody involved with it, i love to watch all of you ride, but in my opinion , you guyz are not the ones i would try and sell my dvd too,

You guyz have to look at the bigger picture,

the market you should hit is Males age 12-17, or kids in general. their parents have money, kids like **** like this...their parents have the buying power....not broke *** stunters and their buddies.

Re: Your Opinoin Matters.......

1, 3, and 5 are the big ones for me, price isnt to big of a deal because i watch stunt vids alot so it gets its use.

i will have to admit 25+ dollars for a 40 min DVD is kinda a rip off though, 1-2 hour movie DVDs that have by far more time put into them/more speacial affects and such are only usually 20+ bux so if you compare it to that its kinda ridiculous.

But i understand not as many copies are purchased because usually movie DVD's sell ALOT of copies

and to the teams that have dvd's you know this is what your thinking, and to all the established riders with more than 2 videos, you know this is true....you want to get the guy thats never really seen it before, cause than he tell his friends, and they tell their friends, and so on and so on, and now you have a devoted following.

Good ******* post!

We plan on making a DVD at the end of next summer, and then plan is to market it locally and try to get regular street bike riders, and some kids buying it. Local appeal will hopefully sell a few, as were going to have alot of Toronto landmarks in the vid. We are gonna sell it out of a Car/Motorcycle memorabillia store in the big mall in the city. Lots of kids hanging out and walking by to see the vid playing on a TV in the front window. I also have good support from the local dealerships/power sports stores, hopefully that'll move a few copies too.

You just raised a great pont with the 12+ y/o kids...I've seen little kids at events asking THEW for his autograph, and I was wondering how the hell they even knew about him.....I guess alot of the little creeps got their hands on the '110% XSBA' DVD.

One last point.....

I would NEVER ask for a FREE DVD. Even if I was good, and had a big name in this industry, I'd rather support a fellow stunter, and hope he buys my DVD in return.

Re: Your Opinoin Matters.......

I think #5 music is often overlooked. I don't know how much or how difficult it is to get mainstream music, but if there's a song in a video I already know, there's an instant connection with what's on screen. The right music can make a good clip great, and a great clip, memorable. I can't listen to Rage against the Machine w/o the SBF clip popping in my head. And every song on 50 nuts I can play the movie in my head, when I hear the song. I still don't know how 50 nuts got so many mainstream songs including Rolling Stones etc.

i agree, very good post....
to me its all about style and music, i dont wanna see the same few tricks over and over again, cuz that **** gets real boring, put in a variety of tricks, bust some new **** that no one else can do, have some comedy in the video but dont try too hard, one of the best videos i've seen is Streetfighters C&I4 they had great music! try and get some footage of some other teams in your vid, or do some up & coming stunters a favor and put em in the vid, dont let the video be all about parkin lot stuff or all about streets, have some street footage here and some parkin lot footage there and also put in some comp footage...........so remember Style and music!

Kind of like revolution 04. Britton and Hoenshell can ride circles around anybody, but that video was a little repetitive. I hope Brittons new video payed attention to the critics.

Re: Your Opinoin Matters.......

I think how you market your vid will have a huge impact on how it sells, throw together a sick trailer, and even if the actual video sucks, it will sell. But I think there are a lot of key componants that make a good video, and I don't think there has been a video put out (at least that i've seen) that combines all these elements. Obviously music is a big factor, throwing some music that will appeal to a lot of people, and something underground, don't play a band that you are likely to hear on the radio. Original camera work, and footage. Mix it up. Although I think it's possible to create an awesome video without doing anything entirely new.

Not really. How much do you think it costs to make a run of only 1000 DVD's? I know the answer and at a retail of $26 you are seeing a markup of over 1700%. And no, there are no extra zero's in there. Now I know there are additional costs involved in marketing and pre-production but not enough to justify the 1700% markup. I have about 15 DVD's on my shelf and there are a few that I dont think are worth half of what I paid and there are a select few that are watched weekly and were well worth the cash paid out. I respect a guy, or a group, trying to make a living off of this but with costs of merchandise as marked up as they are it is really tough for me to justify the purchase of anything, from anyone, unless I know all of what I am getting beforehand, regardless of what any "unbiased" review says.

All that said, I say PRICE and TRAILER are the main selling points for me.
