a little info for FHL and myself...
Re: a little info for FHL and myself...
This is really easy to resolve, has anyone met FHL? Anyone live by him
Simple, meet up for practice session, ride his bike, wheely his bike, take video, prove to FHL his bike wheelies fine

Re: a little info for FHL and myself...
He just sounds full of BS then... he seems to have an excuse for everything so just ignore him
FHL People will respect you more for being crap, going out and practicing with people often and improving and improving more. You'll never get up there with the best if you hide behind some stupid excuses about altitude crap. I still think your old avatar picture was really cool so don't see why you avoid practice sessions with other forum members
I remember posting my first wheelies pics and people taking the **** and laughing (in a friendly manner that is...)
now people don't laugh quite as much when they see my latest pics... they aren't that great, but a notable improvement.
Don't take everything so seriously and get out with other people and practice, learn from better riders, it's the best way to get good

So remapping the PCIII to change the MIXTURE... works. Thanks you... I wish I would have saved the conversation on AIM with him where he called me a clueless asshat and continued to call me names like it was going to hurt my feelings. I didn't start this thread to bash FHL or bring on the people who do. I was more interested in finding out whether the information I was dispursing was accurate and I wasn't making a fool of myself. But... we all still know that he will have an excuse.
FHL, straight up dude... no BS, I'm sure you're a diecent kid who wants to have some skills. But you gotta learn to listen to people when they try to help you. I wasn't trying to be a dick. You told me that you just can't do **** cause you're so high up. Granted, it sucks. BUT I was trying to tell you how to get over that problem. You refused to hear it and told me to prove it. I think this should be proof enough. Map your bike, rejet your dirtbike... and it's all on you then. No more altitude excuse. I'm not doin this to call you out... I'm trying to help man. Good luck and just practice. No hard feelings.

Well said, I think that's what all of us are thinking.
Re: a little info for FHL and myself...
man, i tell you...i live in oklahoma....i can wheelie my 50 here....we went to winterpark last year to go skiing and took the 50's with us...i could wheelie my 50 there too....
Re: a little info for FHL and myself...
i have had convos with him, hours worth on AIM,i think hes cool as hell...everyone goes thru a learning curve where its frustrating when you cant get something on lock as soon as you want, hes a cool dude id ride with him if i could and teach him some **** but i think he doesnt need to be told anything he just needs some hours of practice...99% of the time its about trial and error, practice and practice..people do come down hard on him,if they really dont like his posts theres nothing making them post or anything even making them log onto stuntlife.com im just sick of seeing hate and drama all over this site theres no point in it.
Re: a little info for FHL and myself...
and also about being high above sea level, yeah ive heard a lot about powerloss way up there,im sure it makes his bike harder to wheelie than a 954 at sea level..but its just something to overcome,**** i ride a ZX7R..people say its the hardest bike to wheelie but i still rock the **** out of mine.
Re: a little info for FHL and myself...
I don't think you can do anything signifigant to change the bike's air-fuel ratio. FI bikes adjust the amount of fuel they use automatically to keep it at the proper ratio for the amount of O2. They don't run rich or lean.
Carb'd bikes need that stuff not FI bikes. Re-mapping the PC might help some but there's nothing you can do about less dense air other than shoving more in there with forced induction like FHL said (or NOS).
I think a 954 should wheelie just fine in Denver myself so I think it's an excuse but the reasoning behind the excuse is sound.

Re: a little info for FHL and myself...
my friends in maui stunt it up on mt. haleakala .... yeah those are clouds in the background.... the air is soooo thin over there i passed out once.
besides if his bike loses 25% power wouldnt that make his 954RR like a F4i?

Re: a little info for FHL and myself...
are you guys inbred, thats what a pc does, it changes the air to fuel ratio every xx hundred rpm, so you can get the optimal curve on your dyno chart, the most and smoothest power delivery possible, thats ALL A PC DOES
he can have his **** custom mapped, and it will give him plenty of power, enough to wheelie, like i said, bikes with much less power weighin more wheelie all the time, he just needs to learn

Re: a little info for FHL and myself...
i honestly dont know much about the subject of how bikes run in higher alts. and ****, but id just say he needs to quit makin excuses man up and PRACTICE. if you can wheelie a 250 at sea level, why in the hell would you not be able to wheelie a 954, its not the alt. is the rider/lack of practice/experience

that's exactly the point of the PC. THey do their best to automatically adjust, but it's a sensor in the exhaust, so it only senses the amount of oxygen in the exhuast. It's not measuring the oxygen in the intake. You can make the engine run rich or lean with a PC. it shows it RIGHT ON the thing, just press a button. I was at the dealor a few weeks ago, and they where screwing with one of my friends GSX-R 1000's PC. They put it all the way lean, and all the way rich, you can HEAR the difference. just pressing those buttons will do wondereds in terms of power and torque.

I'm just saying that generally EFI motors take care of the air/fuel mixture properly all by themselves and there isn't any adjusting or jetting required to keep the ratio right with altitude changes. A bike will run properly at 6k feet or sea level but with the added O2 at sea level vs. 6k feet the bike will be able to burn more fuel leading to more power at lower elevations.

I used to take my old 02' gixxer 750 to DEALS GAP and CEASARS HEAD all the time and it seemed like it ran better in the mountains, but what do i know?
maybe my mountains wasnt high enough ***** with it
