Keep pulling clutch in...

I'm learning slow stuff now, not that good yet really, getting it high ish and most about 30mph but im not that smooth with the brake so I can't keep it up all that long.. but i seem to keep pulling the clutch in when I go really high, it usually stays up so im definetly balanced at least and I only sort of blip the clutch in.. i know I DONT WANT to be doing this and ive only done it about 3 times but i just wondered if this happened to anyone else and did you just stop doing it when you got used to the height/slowness? Or am I some sort of weirdo

that's on the rear brake as i turned my headlights off.

getting better at stoppies too

I know im gonna bin it soon so I got a little somin' fitted up.

Re: Keep pulling clutch in...

by the way when i say im pulling cluthc in and it stays up i dont mean a coaster or anything i mean i just sort of blip the clutch accidentally for a split second.. 2 of the 3 times it didnt really do much but the 3rd time the bike jolted up a bit higher... i seem to clutch it up and leave 1 finger over the clutch and i seem to have a lot of weight on the bars which seems to make me pull clutch in sometimes, might just have been when i was getting tired.. i dunno.. was late at night. gonna go out and practice some more now and see if i still do it hehe

yea i know, got nip for 55 in a 30 on tuesday and crashed car into a bmw last night, my insurance is only TPF*t so it'll pay for his BMW after i pay a £450 excess but my peugeot wont get fixed! it's still driveable, damage isnt too bad to live with but would cost a fair bit to get fixed... need to get the indicators fixed before its properly road legal but it does drive fine.. the big bump fixed my clock/temp guage in the dash though

Re: Keep pulling clutch in...

hahaha I just tested the cage properly.. was sat on tank spreader style seeing what it was like, an accelerating/decelerating to see how much i pulls you about (i slipped off the first time lol) and second time I veered left into the kerb, bike went flying and spun 360 on the kerb and slid a bit, wasnt very fast so wasn't too bad.. not even a single scratch on the bike whatsoever... Fi cage rocks!

Re: Keep pulling clutch in...

as soon as you let the clutch out move fingers round the grip, away from the lever. It gives you a better pull on the bars for keeping straight and its good practice for reaching to the bar brake lever (which you're probably thinking of fitting now your going for spreaders).

Get back on the clutch lever as the front comes down, so you don't do a Billy!
(ask him about last weeks slam)

Re: Keep pulling clutch in...

what did billy do?

i went out again this evening, raised my idle to 2000 rpm which helps with the slow clutching, bike doesnt bog down so much any more. i didnt touch the clutch this evening but i'll try and move my hand fully to the bar next time out.
