Police: Man Charged With Negligent Homicide After Taxicab Crash
23-Year-Old Allegedly Ran Red Light, Crashed Into Cab
POSTED: 12:17 am EST March 11, 2006
UPDATED: 4:42 pm EST March 11, 2006
WMUR reported new charges have been filed in a crash that killed two people in February.
The two victims, including a newborn baby, died in a hospital.
According to police, the man responsible for the accident was Joshua Lamy, 23, who has been accused of speeding and drunken driving.
He was just released from a hospital on Thursday, but on Friday the charges against Lamy became much more serious, WMUR reported.
He now faces two felony charges of negligent homicide, police said.
Investigators said Lamy slammed into a taxicab in Manchester after running a red light.
The passenger in the taxi, Sheila Moody, died from her injuries several days after the crash.
The cab's driver, Brianna Emmons, who was pregnant, was also seriously injured. Doctors delivered her baby after the accident, but the baby died on March 4.
Police said the accident has been a tragedy for everyone involved.
"This is a sad and tragic incident for all the families; everyone who suffered, was injured or died," said Officer Brian Blais, with the Manchester Police Department.
Lamy is currently in a wheelchair with two severely fractured ankles.
He is also in jail with a bail set at $100,000.

Woman, 30, Pleads Guilty To Sex With Boy, 12
Mother Of Four Tearfully Apologizes
POSTED: 2:23 pm EST March 10, 2006
NASHUA, N.H. -- A 30-year-old woman will serve up to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple felony counts of sex with a 12-year-old boy.
During a sentencing hearing Thursday, Sarah Clark, a mother of four, said she was ashamed of her actions and apologized.
"I did not just hurt one boy, but five," Clark said of the victim and of her family.
She wept as she read a statement to the court. "I'm so sorry to everyone. ... I am hoping that in prison I will get the help and counseling I need so that I come out a better person and a better mother to my wonderful boys."
Clark admitted to having sex with the boy, a friend of one of her sons, in a bedroom and a bathroom of the home, as well as performing other sexual acts with him over the course of about a month.
"I was the adult and he was the child," Clark said. "I am so ashamed for what I've done. I've betrayed so many people's trust."
Authorities say the incidents happened in April and May of last year, when Clark lived in Swanzey. The boy is now 13.
"She has come to recognize the perverse and destructive nature of her actions," said Peter Heed, Clark's lawyer.
Clark pleaded to seven counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault of a minor. She was sentenced to between five and 15 years in prison and must complete sex offender counseling. Another 10 to 30 years of the sentence was suspended.
Detective Paul Bertolami said the boy kept what happened a secret. It wasn't until a resident listening to a digital scanner one night accidentally picked up a call between Clark and the boy on a portable phone, that the abuse came to light, Bertolami said.
"The person heard the two of them talking," Bertolami said. "And there was a certain level of affection in the conversation, and it wasn't hard to differentiate that one voice was an adult woman and one was a young boy. The person knew that, at the very least, there was some inappropriate conduct going on."
