need help from all 12'oclock experts

How are you guys doing it? (with and without a bar?)

I have pretty good back brake control and good wheelie skills, but every time I lean way back, slip the brake and try, I fall right back on my ***. Its almost like no matter what kind of braking I do, I'm gonna fall. I don't have a bar, but I duct taped an 18" or so stick to my subframe and I could hardly even hit that without falling. I've seen some pretty sick scraping by some of you, so I know its possible. Maybe I need to lean back, but keep my body more upright, like I'm staring at the gas tank as opposed to the bars/sky. Thanks for any input.

well a bar would really help you out buddy. A piece of wood if ghetto if you ask me. As for the 12's its pretty much simple.

1. Ride a wheelie 2nd is a good gear to do it in
2. make sure you are riding the bike straight in a wheelie before you commit to do the 12
3. This is the hardest part. This is where the commitment comes into place.
While you in the air in the wheelie make sure your going a good speed so the speed keeps you up and balanced and make sure your straight!! When you feel the bike is straight and your speed is good just lean back and let the bike flip over. NO rear brake! Only use the rear brake to straighten you up in the wheelie. once you commit then no rear brake. Do not put your feet down. Your going to want to but dont or you may get hurt. Just try and balance the bike with your weight as much as possible and when it feels like its going to tip to one side then catch it with your legs.
4. keep practicing it!!

Hope this helps

to see if you got your stuff on lock, try to wheelie down hill

it's fun to go down in first and keep the revs low

If I'm goin along in second, I"m haulin ***, wouldn't that be a bad time to try to twelve?

Oh, and the piece of wood was used as a reference, only to see if I could actually get that far back.
Thanks for the help guys

well if its your first time dont haul *** man.... Just go a normal 2nd gear wheelie speed. You will have to trust yourself and commit into the 12 once you go far back theres no going back. If you are going normal speed and try and 12 but change your mind at the last second when it scrapes your going to eat ****. Stay on the pegs and just let it ride out. Its a scary feeling at first and after a few you will know that the bar is going to catch you and all you have to do is balance it on that small scrape bar. Simple as that!

Re: need help from all 12'oclock experts

Im no expert but.... I bought a baker broz 12 bar and put it on last weekend. Its fully adjustable and pimp. I havent had time to ride until last night but after growing a pair.... I scraped .....I have it set at like 11:30 because It is the first time I have ever scraped....once u do it, it is very addicting.... I have my 11:30 scrapes going but I think that the weather here is going to take a sh%t this week and weekend.... I may have to put it away for the winter....that sucks but as far as the 12's....u just have to convince yourself that u are not going to flip back on your ***......Once u hit it, it only gets easier..... I'm liking this whole 12 bar idea....... :YEAH :YEAH :YEAH :YEAH I would suggest buying or making a bar though...there are plenty of places to buy them....... that " phat fish" 12 bar looks bad *** but I have never seen one in action....

go along in a wheelie in first or second what ever you feel more comfortable with.. get goin into a good straight wheelie and slowly let it fall back to where you need the bake brake and just control how hard you hit with the brake.. but dont try to hit to soft or you'll wreck so just go back pretty quick

so the moral of the story here is that I need a bar.

What is the deal with people bending subframes with them? Does that mean you have to figure out a semi-flexible way to attach it to the back? Like hose clamps etc???
