my buddy bought a kitaco rev box, and its suppose to remap your blah blah blah, and make your blaah blah blah do this! so, in other words, That **** was well worth it. me and him raced, and he pulled on me right after second gear. All this talk about loosing torque, and $#!t like that is smack!

*i hear, kitaco is the only one that does this remaping, and lets you get more for your money!

Do you run the risk of damaging your engine using one though sinceit revs so high??

I have the Kitco CDI w/big bore and I noticed a lot in burnouts. It revs a lot higher and you can keep your trick for much longer. I'm not sure with stock motors.

ON A STOCK MOTOR, YOU GET BETTER TOP END, AND YOU DONT......I REPEAT, YOU DONT LOSE TORQUE, THATS JUST AS STUPID MYTH! ITS COMMON

THE ONLY THING I WOULD THINK IT WOULD DO IS WEAR YOUR MOTOR ALIL MORE THEN USUAL SINCE YOU CAN ALLOW IT TO REV HIGHER! BUT IF YOU RIDE NORMAL, AND STUNT NORMAL, THEN I WOULDNT THINK IT WOULD HAVE ANY REAL EFFECT OR DAMAGE.

if you understand the change yes you will feel a difference. alot of people you dont need it but hey taking out your choke helps a little, modding you exaust helps a little, a cdi will also help a little. any one over 45$ is a rip off.
the cdi changes the timing of the spark depending on the rpm the motor is turning. the way the stock box is limited is by a change in timing to slow the motor down at 9800 or something rpms.
dont worry about blowing up your motor by accident, that doesnt happen very often and is harder than you think.

The only thing that will blow up a Honda fifty motor is water ingestion. I have one that has been smoking for years. I dont want to fix what is not broken, I beat on the thing every time I ride it. Still never skips a beat.

Re: Whats the deal with the cdi rev box is it worth buyin what does it do for you

theres only a few boxes out there that advance ignition timing, kitaco being one of them. on a stock motor, u will prolly notice the differance with the advance. as for the rev limiter.. the stock motor is done making power waaaaaaay before the stock limiter, so whats the point in reving the engine any higher? id say they are worth the money on a big bore, however if running a TrailBikes kit (the ones i sell) with a stock head, u WILL need some race gas in there. if not, it will detonate like crazy and defeat the whole purpose of the rev box and most likely burn a hole into the piston over time. so carefull what u do.

take off the airfilter, look into the carb and turn the choke on all the way, youll see a phillips head screw holding the choke plate on, remove the screw and the plate and pull the assembly out of the carb from the lever. then you will be left with a hole on the side of the carb, take an eraser off of the top of a pencil and push it in the hole.

why would you do this ?
you think the choke plate restricts the flow of air?
let me say theres a hell of a lota **** that restrics airflow on a fiddy and that aint one of em where do these people get these silly ideas?
the valves will float long before you ever hurt anything

They are a waste of $$ and could very well cause you to overrev the motor and scatter it.

Re: Whats the deal with the cdi rev box is it worth buyin what does it do for you

z50nati, theres tons of restrictors no ****. theres a company joker machine that makes a "choke plug" that they claim makes a 7% increse in power. i dont think a cdi would even do that much on a stock motor. as i said in the previous post, every little bit counts. but what do you care, your just tryin to pin me.
you would have to be an IDIOT to accedentally blow the motor, and it is not a waste if you want to squeeze as much performance out as possible.
if you have 30$ to spend, whats the problem?

Re: Whats the deal with the cdi rev box is it worth buyin what does it do for you

i hope u realize that 7% increase over a stock motor is only 2 tenths of a horsepower. WHOA!!! HANG ON TIGHT. i realize every bit counts, but come on.. u would be lucky to find a dyno accurate enough to measure that increase.

by the way... looks like yer enjoying stuntlife seeing as much as u are posting here.
