Front End Troubles

I put heavy duty fork springs in my 50 and now when i hit the front brake it pulls to the left. I can grab the front wheel and move it and watch the forks move I wonder if i didnt get the tabs at the top of the forks, in right.

Re: Front End Troubles

That sounds normal after installing HD springs. It pulls to the left because the brake is on the left side of the wheel, and the fork legs are pushed out more (raised the front end). The best cure is to add aftermarket bushings, it wont cure it completly but helps alot. This guy has good prices on bushings www.50ccracing.com/ $20 a pair. Also make sure the front axle is tight, that will do that also.

Re: Front End Troubles

same here - i picked a new fiddie this week, slapped the beefy springs in right away (an inch longer than stock) ... so today was like my third ride on the thing, less than 2hrs ride time .. haven't hit anything bigger than 2 feet, but the bushings are already sloppier than a hooker at a sailors convention.

screw the bushings - I'm going for the sik50 suspension kit - forks, triple clamp, swing arm and works shock for just over $1K... :YEAH

Re: Front End Troubles

bushings are a must... www.fiveoracing.com or www.xr50.com .....also check the c clip right at the dust boot... sometimes that comes loose if you don't get it in just right

Re: Front End Troubles

Mr50 forks + I-shock + 7/8in bar clamps + bmx bars + throttle = nice suspension for less than $350

Re: Front End Troubles

upgrade your bushings to eliminate slop. i just installed some redbarron bushings, and they work like a charm. no more clunk, or pop when you lift the front end, nice and smooooooooothe!
