but here all you have to do is get a green sheet when you get it inspected
and your in, to get that it has to pass inspection, here ft brk light switch rear brake light switch, brk light tail light ,head light with high and low beam, dot tires and a horn, we used to do em when we rode an enduro that required it.insurance of course oppps forgot mirrors

Re: Street Legal?

try these guys
http://www.bajadesigns.com/
we put these on xr400's and such
they even have a pop up about 50's and cali law
these are complete kits as well
from their web site: look in new products even has a cool pic
The XR50 has become a fanatical passion among many adults, and kids alike. Want to be able to ride it on the street? In addition to following your DMV's rules and regulations, a Baja Designs kit will help you make the XR50 street legal.

The concept behind the Baja Designs Quick Release Dual Sport Kit is fairly simple: create a street-legal bolt-on kit which is self-contained and can be removed with ease. Instead of mounting the components permanently on your bike, they are tucked away inconspicuously behind the headlight. The rear fender already contains the flush mount turn signals, a taillight, all wiring, and a license plate drop-down. Upon removal, the only item that will remain on the bike is the Mid-Harness, which is permantly routed out of the way. (Flush-mount rear turn signals are standard. DOT rear turn signals can be substited at no extra cost)

Prices Starting at - $499.95

Re: Street Legal?

Over here in New Zealand, the laws are all good. All we need to do is register the fiddy as an moped, (under 50cc),at a cost of about $70NZD per year, You dont need lights or indicators because you do not need a warrent of fitness to comply with a Vin exempt vehicle.
Cops are still kinda confussed about the law, but as long as you wear a helmet and do hand signals when you come across a cop there is no problem.
We ride in Auckland city every weekend from trail to trail, no need for trailers or utes, I guess we are lucky over here. :YEAH
