Why Does Everyone UseThe Stock Fiddy Motors Then Hop Up
i was just curious why all you guys run a stk fiddy motor then add to it when you can start with a 70 motor and do twice the stuff with it
and its alot more durable
first thing i did was yank the stock motor
and put the 4 speed 70 motor in they arent that hard to find
yall spend all this money when a 70 motor will do the same thing
for half the price
just askin

Re: Why Does Everyone UseThe Stock Fiddy Motors Then Hop Up
I think most people start with the 50 motor just because it is what came with the bike. It is more economical to make baby steps as well. A series of nickel and dime parts seem cheeper than a whole new motor.

yeah jonny i hear ya since the fiddy boom has taken off they really getting scarce the one i got was a complete xl 70 that had a rusted out tank and the guy couldnt get anyone to fix the tank and a new one was more than he thought the bike was worth from honda so he took a couple hundred bux and walked away
the other one i swapped in a group with a couple of old z's
ill keep my eye out for ya if i find one ill let ya know

Re: Why Does Everyone UseThe Stock Fiddy Motors Then Hop Up
yeah you guys are bad
we kinda did the same around here
im still running the powroll 100 kit in an 72 xl70
got a couple of those motors
still screamin
i let some fiddy guys ride it
they acted like theyd never seen a clutch on a fiddy
put a atc 90 intake on it with a xr100 carb
its a stump puller

Re: Why Does Everyone UseThe Stock Fiddy Motors Then Hop Up
I just bought a almost new 2003 xr50 motor for $350, is that a decent deal? Its pretty darn clean, cause its basically new. Also came w/ some extra random parts.

because now" we stunt em, jump em, race em and dump em!" Want to stay competitive with the local boyz.
summer 2004 MFM will MX, Stunt, & Supermotord our 50's for prizes, t- shirts, hats, patches, etc.....
I have to compete with NiNer and his 110cc stroker....
Re: Why Does Everyone UseThe Stock Fiddy Motors Then Hop Up
88 wont run with a stroker motor
unless hes a chitty rider and your like a pro
im just going by displacement
i dont know either one of your setups
i run a stroker motor and i pass 88's like they are backing up
