Suspension wise.... what's the first thing I should do?
Suspension wise.... what's the first thing I should do?
OK, my CRF50 is bone stock. Just got it. And I took it out on the dirt, and any time I got air, it bottomed out upon landing.
What's the first thing I should do? Front forks? Rear shock? How much is it gonna cost me?
PS. I'm 6'2 and 173 lbs.

look into a frame, the stock frame is made for an 80 to 95lbs kid, after jumping for a while you will notice that it will start to flex, forks and a rear shock just make for a softer landing, now for what kind of forks and shocks, depends on how much you wana spend

An aftermarket extended swingarm always works. BBR forks you can pick up with a bar kit on ebay for $505.00+ 20.00 shipping.I think new the I shock with resevoir is 219.00 and about 175 with out.If you want bombshells its gonna cost you a grand but you get a disc brake and hub.Werks shocks work good also they run about 230.Swingarms run about 300-350 FiveO and sic50s IMHO make the best looking and functional swingarms.Forks are most important but with a 50 you need the rear to match. So do a shock then forks then swingarm.Thats what I would do. you also need big bars/ clamp ( huge difference), but if you buy top of the line forks they will come w/clamp( bombshell/ Sano).
Front suspension price, and route depend on your budget... order your Ishock
while you wait set up an opportunity to ride Matt Schwartz's or sickfitty's
rig they both have Sano front forks and frames/ swingarms / big bores.... after you ride one/ both these bikes you will know if you want to live
Getto Fab ( budget) or Bling,Bling ( top shelf sh*t)
MFM Detroit Style :YEAH

OK, cash is tight right now. If I just get a spring... will the f*cker stop bottoming out when I jump it? (small jumps... maybe 18" of air)

Get the cheap Ishock, ~$175. You get the extra inch of travel and it will make the world of difference on jumps. It was the first mod I did. Front springs are this weekend.
