Well as all of you in the Midwest know the weather in Chicago is miserable to say the least. Snow, ice and cold weather...WTF? I can't ride my Fiddy and I'm going through bike withdrawl.

Anyway in the last week my 50 has undergone a heart transplant yet again. In another attempt to extract every single horsepower from my little motor we've put on a fully ported 70CC Monster head and mild race cam. Despite us using aftermarket HD valve springs the god damn intake valve still sticks open at high RPM's. The HP curve goes right up past the mark where it tapered off with the ported 50 head and then bam hits the wall. My friend said he has a few ideas on how to fix, and assures me its not that big of a deal it will just be a few more days but I'm just sick and tired of issues in making HP and wanted to vent.....

..... and when is it going to be above 30 degrees again?

Why do you believe the valve is floating? with the springs and MILD CAM you have float should not be an issue unless your turning serious rpms. Does it still run or is the valve now bent from hitting piston? Wanna sell the ported 50 head?

 

Its not bent...its just sticking open....you can hear/feel it and if you put your hand in the air inlet of the carb you can easily tell whats going on....My bike is turning some crazy RPM's.......

I sold the ported head to Pete aka Duc-Man for his 50 already.

 

be glad it's 20* out and not 70*, then you'd have a reason to be pissed.
