Uni Pod Filter
Uni Pod Filter
In my Christmas Stalking was a Uni Pod Filter from Santa. Any guys have any experience with these? How I am supposed to install it? Do I have to totally remove the whole air box with hoses from my bike? Are there any pics of it already installed? Thanks guys!
Go up to a 60 on the jet size and play around with the needle settings... That was the first mod I did when I bought my bike and on the DYNO I picked up 1/2 a horsepower which is a lot on these little things.
Here is a great email I received from a genteleman @ fast50s.com regarding the install of the uni pod filter!
Just take off your entire stock airfilter assembly and the little black box off your bike and also the little black tube that connects you cases to that black little box. Then you oil the new Uni filter with high quality filter oil and squeeze out excess oil. Clean the "snout" of the filter with a grease/oil cutter such as contact cleaner or brake cleaner on a clean rag or paper towel. This is to ensure a clean contact surface to make sure the filter when you tighten it does not slip off the carburetor. Then put the filter on and tighten it up (not too tight) but tight enough that it will not fall off. Then take the clear "reddish" tube that is connected to your stock airbox and take out the brass looking end cap in the tube or just cut the tube right above that to get it off the tube so you can blow through it freely. Attach that tube to the engine case where you pulled off the black line from the case that connected to the "little" black box. Then just let the tube hang down like a big bike and your done with the bolt on stuff. Now "Sometimes" you must jet your carburetor but usually all you have to do is richen up the airscrew mixture a bit by turning the airscrew in all the way "clockwise" and coming back out counter-clockwise about 1/2-3/4 turns out. (depending on what setting makes the bike run better and crisper) The more you take that screw out the leaner the bike runs by the airscrew letting more air in to lean the air/fuel mixture.
Hopefully I did not confuse you too much and your off riding the the bike and not even reading this anymore!! -Fast50s.com

So I installed my pod filter finally, and I'm having a bit of trouble.
It seems like the fiddy is getting to much air now. It idles fine, but as soon as I try to punch it, it just sucks air and puts. I tried messing with the air screw, but no luck after adjusting it all day of riding. What would my next step be in getting my adjustments right? Do I have to raise my clip? If so, how do I do that?
