Thumbs up 50ccracing's handlebar 'high riser' $35!

just got this 'high riser' plate from www.50ccracing.com, and it's the ****. it's a $35 alternative to a $200 handlebar kit and does the job perfectly. by raising the stock handlebars up and out both 1.5", there's plenty of room to turn lock to lock w/out banging your knees, and i can sit up a little further on the seat to save my *** from gettin sore. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for anyone that's looking to save some money on a good handlebar fix (very OEM looking too). 1/4" steel hasn't bent or flexed for me, so i'm pretty confident it'll hold up to some abuse. i'd recommend routing the throttle cable outside of the forks and frame on the right side b/c when turning to lock (left) it'd pull slightly. and it only took two days to get here, needless to say i'm happy w/ this one.

I made that same ome for my 50. One thing I did to make it even better was take your bars off and put them on the floor and step ont hem and take the curve out of the bars. It makes a big difference.

Good luck

You are asking for trouble keeping those worthless stock bars. One day they will bend on you and hopefully you don't get hurt. Look on the web, I've seen triple tree clamps for $66 new, handlebars for $10 on ebay, and throttle kits for $20. Add some cables if needed and you'll be at $110 and yor stuff will look WAY COOL.

I got lucky with my Z since the throttle is already 7/8 inches and I picked up a set of Chrome GT BMX bars off ebay for $12 and a clamp from fast 50's. Oh yeah some $6 red grips look pimp.

are the aftermarket grips any softer than the oem grips? i'd be nice to get some as long as they're durable.

no **** i thought maybe it was just me but damn, should i use compressed air (like an air gun) to get'em off and/or on? and where should i buy a spare throttle tube (pref. not some fancy $60 one) and shifter (not sure if i should get spring loaded or not)? i guess i just jacked my own thread but oh well...

My friend made something similar to that out of diamond plate, but it doesn't lift the bars, it moved them foward more.

I had one of those made. I took a pic of it, my bars, and the top triple, to my local metal shop and the guy minted out 2 of em for 20 clams.

Well worth it if you don't have the 200 for big bar kit.
