bogging

bogging

i have a removed carb and i just got a air filter now when its idleing and i give it gas it bogs if i give it full throttle from an idle it shuts off. what can i do i think its geting t much air should i change the jetting?

I take it that you mean you have a removed choke...and an air filter.. I have about the same setup on my fiddy but I have a pit king exhuast tip and I went up to a 62 main jet and it made all the difference..also you should move the clip down on the needle and play with the mixture screw a bit...if you need any other help let me know...also check this out this might help

wow thanks lots of help, but i was wondering do u ever have to change the piolit jet, cause my top end isnt bad but i have bad low end ?thanks

I was wondering the same thing? But honestly I don't think so, with the right setting on the mixture screw it should run good. If you wanted to get all crazy with the stock carb I suppose the pilot jet would help but you should be ok if you mess around with the mixture. I don't have a lot of low end power but it doesn't bog and it has loads of top end power.. if you need the part numbers for the main jets let me know...actually let me just give them to you for reference anyway

Honda
pn#99101-187-0600 for a 60 main
pn#99101-187-0620 for a 62 main

you should be able to get them at a dealer or try
