help..my brake hub is heating up

help..my brake hub is heating up

im from the philippines..and i have a huge problem.last night i installed my homemade HB setup...its the same setup just like with 50stunt...i noticed that after i installed it and testing hardly on my crf after a few minutes, my rear brake hub heats....what supposed to be the problem???ive tried adjusting my brake so that the pads is not touching the drum...and it still heats up....need your help guys

thats what brakes do. they work off of friction, witch causes heat

Make sure that the rear wheel spins freely when the bike is on a stand and the wheel is off the ground.

If it does not spin freely then you need to back off the adjustment nut.

+1^^^^ Yep, thats what they do. Particularly when used more often. Perhaps you are just noticing the heat because your checking it now. Or maybe you're useing is alot more, dragging it and whatnot now that the handbrake is in effect.

I woudl'n't worry if it spins freely when brake not engaged.

I agree i make sure mine freespins just tighten it as far as it will go with still allowing your back tire to freespin and you should be fine
