Smile Fiddy Maintenance

Hello, I just got a used honda 2002 xr50, it runs great but is pretty dirty. I am about to take it on a trip for the weekend and want to know what I can check or clean to make sure everything is going to be running fine. I wanted to clean off the chain in the back, I figure I can clean it with carb cleaner, but I dont know what to re-lub it with. This and any other tips would be much appreciated, thanks!

Re: Fiddy Maintenance

Change the oil.. use a real bike oil like HOnda GN-4 10-40

check all nuts and bolts for any that may be loose.. adjust and lube the chain and take tools with you that will let you fix or adjust most anythign on it... it doen't take much, i usually keep vice grips, and a variety of metric wrenches and sockets and a few allen wrenches too..all in alla lunch box size bag of tools will get you by anythign that should happen while you're out
