50 Won't Kick Start... or Idle

Have a knockoff 50, actually its a 72cc. Ran fine then died while being ridden. Wouldn't restart by kicking.

It WILL START by push starting while in gear... but it will not idle.

Has new plug and carb has been cleaned.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Brett

adjust the carb, check the idle screw and the fuel/air mixture screw as well. thats probably the problem

Any other ideas?

is the motor beat down? sometimes motors low on compression will act like that but these little bastards are tuff... check all the gaskets from carb to intake and intake to head... adn re-clean the carb then adjust the idle screw and mixture screw.. if that doesn't do it you might want to pull a compression test

My friend has a Chonda that's 72cc, prolly the same one you have. check the wiring where everything comes together above the motor, we found that they just kinda twisted the wires and taped 'em up. also it could be the stator, we had a different guys chonda just lose the stator one day in the middle of riding. sometimes it would start and run like ****, but then one day it just stopped starting. We put a new stator in and it ran like a champ.
