Is there a way to change it from 3 up to 3 down ?

Yep, just flip your transmission upside down.

Haha nah I really don't know, maybe add one of those Harley shifter pegs where you can press it down in the back or pull it up in the front.

What is the not so easy way to do it? I have a knock off that is 4 down and would like to switch it to four up. thanks

well the trans out of the older z 50 were 3 down... you would have to pull apart the trans and change to the old style mecanism.. I dont know part numbers, or if they are interchangeable because I've never though of wanting to change them around... hope that helps

It's not "easy" to do, but this kit should give you an idea of what you need to pull it off:

you just need a 3 down gear set with shift forks/drum.

I am currently running a 1-N-2-3-4 in my XR50, and I love the thing. Only took swapping out the parts. The case of the XR50 is the same as 90% of all other 12v 50cc hondas with the same type engine.
