Easy way to get dust covers on?
I just pulled my forks apart to check the stock bushings, which are shot, and I got all of it put back together with no trouble except for the dust covers.
Is there some kind of trick to getting them back on? I lubed them up with WD40 but they still won't stretch enough to get back on the upper fork tube....

PUSH
THEY SHOULD POP RIGHT OVER
i mean it's easy but it just don't slide right on, cuz if it did they'd fall right off.
is it cold there or not?
try heating them up a little with maybe a heat gun or hair dryer.

it's not that cold out, maybe 65 degrees. They are just very stiff and dont have any give to them. I may have to try the hair dryer on them to see if I can get them to soften up. It's a 2000 xr, owned by a kid before me, so I doubt they have EVER been removed before.
