takegawa 88cc s-stage combo kit install

I just bought the takegawa 88cc s stage kit and the instructions say you need to buy a torque wrench. So I went to Sears and bought a torque wrench but found that the increments were by 10! So I returned that one and then went to Kragen auto parts to find this happening again even after asking the woman if it was by 1 ft-lb increments! DO I NEED A TORQUE WRENCH TO ENSURE TOP PERFORMANCE?

sears should have an inch/lb torque wrench.

Use the right tool, there is a reason why engine builders make torque specs.

I have rebuilt all 5 of my minibikes and have never used a torque wrench (mainly cus I don't have 1 ) and never had any problems yet.

all good advise. i own them but dont use them on the fiddy, after about 14 years of using one you get the feel of what things should be tightened to.

The manual says to torque the 4 head bolts to only 8 lbs. HAhahah **** will leak and make a horrible noise if you dont tighten them nuts to atleast 15 lbs! I never used a Torque wrench on a Fiddy. I have built 4 Bore kits myself. Never used it and not one problem ! I can see if this was a Crotch rocket but its a 2 valve 5HP honda motor! Its bullet proof
