Thumbs up A Must Read ...

it seems to me that people get bent out of shape everytime they aren't invited to a show. the percentages on why break down like this:

50% of the time, people aren't invited because of their showmanship (aka - ability to wow the crowd)

and

50% of the time, people aren't invited because of riding area size at a show (aka - too small for more than a few riders)

people not getting invited has nothing to do with the splitting of the pay to ride at any particular show. and it has everything to do with your riding. when i invite people to ride at a show with me i ask the most talented riders that i know. it has nothing to do with favoritism and has everything to do with entertaining the crowd. when ed and john ask someone else to ride at something that they are having, i don't take it to heart. if my riding was better, maybe i would get invited and maybe i wouldn't but until then i'll wait without hurt feelings. but even then, if i still don't get invited i still will not take it to heart. that's just the way i am.

it's also been brought to my attention that there has been some **** talking about other stunt riders that we all ride with. why? because these other riders are great at what they do? i think that is ridiculous. this has to stop and everyone should knock the bullshit off and just have fun.

what do you guys think about my thread. post up with thoughts.

until then, this has been a public service announcement brought to you by your friendly neighborhood spiderman. yep that's me on right.

Re: A Must Read ...

I talked today to Ed about this and he told me i was wrong about the pay thing since he wasn't getting paid for the show. so i said ok i was wrong and im sorry bout the misunderstanding. also, no one that i know of was paid for wilmington though there's been rumors we or legion got paid. TMF never saw any cash out of it. ****, i've never done a paid show in my life. the few shows i've helped get together i'd made sure that everyone was invited regardless of space or ability. But in the end the shows the t shirts and the drama don't mean ****. It's about havin fun in the parking lot with a few of your friends. i don't have any real issues with anyone i ride with but there'll always be drama with us and this sport b/c we all have egos and we all take our riding seriously and personally. I've practiced many long hours to do what i can do on a bike so i do take it personally when someone says im not talented enough to ride at a show. But then i take a step back and remember that it's just a hobby and something to do for fun. ok nuff ramblin.....

Re: A Must Read ...

nah just kidding when we get some shows that are open ride shows everyone will be invited.. the shows that we get 10minutes to ride at 3 times a day and no riding in between we cant have a big possie at because each person would only do 2 wheelies and the show would be over. im sure all this drama started over the delware thing and it was all BS. so lets just all get along we are all friends. i will ride wheelies with you guys anytime thats what i love to do.

Re: A Must Read ...

hmmmmmmmm i have no clue WTF is going on anymore. I'm out of the loop. I will say that i understand about only inviting a few people when space/time is limited. I also understand about inviting better people and what not. I'm not mad b/c i ****. Like Ed would say. It's cool. Anyway i agree with Rich. Stop the drama. Over and out.

Re: A Must Read ...

I've read all of this and it is all true.

When we get a show that has the room and time for lots of riding, we want EVERYONE there cause that is when this is most fun!!!

sometimes, like the indoor shows or this show richie has coming up, there just isnt enough room or time or whatever for 20 people... and like richie said, you have to entertain the crowd, that's how you get MORE shows. We brought bob whitman to a few shows over the winter cause he is a really good show rider, very entertaining, that is all that had to do with anything.

Everyone keep riding and practicing, everyone will be invited to every show that anyone else has unless there are certain constraints. Lets have a PIMP BDSF summer again!!!

you shouldn't take this personally, if you read what i posted it says the "most talented" it doesn't say "i don't invite the NO TALENT chumps that try to ride." i think everyone i ride with has talents that they possess that no one else does. and that is their individual riding style.

this i agree and disagree with. it all started out with strictly having fun. but now for me, with the time and effort that goes into it, it has become a part time job that needs attention. but above all, it is still fun.

Re: A Must Read ...

It was a joke. No i didn't get paid. It was never supposed to be a paid event so if someone did get paid i don't have a clue. I was just being a smart ***. And like Weird Steve. I have never gotten paid to do any show. I have fun riding and hanging out with everyone i have met. It isn't a part time job for me. Money isn't everything. Granted i would love to ride all the time and get paid, but there are more important things going on in my life to make riding my priority.

gotcha. Ok, its official, ON ONE GOT PAID FOR DE! LOL

i know plenty of people who get paid for shows that others do. they just throw some loot on down to the performing team and keep some for themselves as a finders fee or whatever you want to call it.

In conclusion, yeah, lets keep this fun (but rich, we (LEGION) def see your point of putting a LOT of time and $$ into something and therefore sometimes need to treat it like a second job), and do as much crap together as we (bdsf) can and have a fun summer!

Re: A Must Read ...

I want to be invited to every show and I also want to be paid a min. of $3,500.97 per event.

You all know my riding is worth that.
