Ok so I'm just sitting here on the computer last night, checking my email and OUT OF NOWHERE....I hear this LOUD squealing. It's dark outside, so I can't see out of the window to see what it is. I'm on the phone with Richie at this point and I'm asking him what the h*ll it is. He's telling me to look out the window. I told him it was dark and I couldn't see out there. He reminded me that there was a FLASHLIGHT sitting right next to me....DUH. So I picked up the flashlight and started to walk out the back door. I'm still on the phone with Richie and I'm asking him, "Do you hear it? Do you hear that f*cking squealing? Do you hear it yet?" It took a little bit but as soon as I got a little closer he said, "Yeah I hear it now." Now, armed with my trusty flashlight, I'm walking closer to this "squealing" wondering what the h*ll it could be. Now we have this bear that likes to dig in our garbage every now and then, so as I'm getting closer to the carnage I think I might see....I'm getting a little worried. What if the d*mn thing attacks me? Would I be sqealing that loud if he was attacking me? Better yet...what IS he attacking? So I sucked it up and walked closer to the noise, about 10 feet away, and proceeded to shine the light right on them. Much to my surprise, I caught 2 skunks doing the nasty next to our house. At least I think that's what they were doing. As soon as they spotted me one of them took off....and so did I....running for the door to come back into the house. I slammed the door. I was safe...I was in and they were out. As I'm yelling to Richie over the phone, trying to describe to him what had just happened, it dawned on me. "Oh my f*cking God!", I yelled. "I smell the skunks! I'm in the house and I smell the skunks!" And then it hit me. The smell didn't seep into the house, it was on me. I threated the little skunk sexcapade and they f*cking sprayed me! Everytime I breathed in, I could smell it. I could even taste it. You know when you hit a skunk with your car how bad that smells?......well let me tell you, this was 100 times worse than that and it didn't go away by just putting the windows down. This sucks!. My eyes still burn.

yeah, I have a friend that was spayed and that was the only thing that took tha smell off (tomato juice/sauce) . Sorry to hear that bro...

 

Nicki... I know for a fact (Lager the beagle was sprayed last year) that hydrogen peroxide and dish soap work, but that's for dogs...it might be a little harsh on the skin. I'll look into it more and get back to you...

Ok, this is what I found out for you...
If a person or pet is sprayed, wash with Simple Green, rinsing well. Follow with vinegar rinse.

You can also try washing with a mixture of: 1 qt. 3% hydrogen peroxide (from the drugstore), 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 tsp. liquid soap. Keep mixture out of eyes, nose, and mouth. Follow with a tap water rinse. Do not store mixture in closed bottle; it could explode. Quantity is suitable for cat or small dog.

Wash clothes with Simple Green and use a dilute bleach solution to rinse if the item is safe to bleach.

Yeah as for the tomato sauce thing....that's a myth. I contacted the ER and they told me that a mixture of peroxide, baking soda, and dish liquid in a tub of warm water would do the trick. It didn't smell that bad, so I don't think I was directly sprayed. I think I ran through the mist to get back into the house. LET ME STRESS.....this kind of **** could only happen to me.

 

I could only hope that little f*ucker died after 3 hours. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.....well....yeah I would, but you get the point. It was f'ing awful.
