those who will go down, those who have.....
ok so the saying is true; there are three types of motorcycle riders.
1) those who will go down
2) those who have gone down
3) and those who will go down again
so last week i packed, loaded the bike up and headed on a 1000 mile drive to my dad's. i made it there the first day of driving in 13.5 hours, (not to bad for 1000 miles with a bike in the back of your truck! so i made it to northern california (mendocino county) there is some of the sweetest riding in the US there. the next day 4th of july i rode all over the shoreline highway 1, hwy 101, hwy 128, and hwy 20. the second day i went outagain on the hwy 101 north and rolled around humbolt county all day, i took the giant redwood highway it was sweet. anyway on my way back i took the legget road that conects to hwy 1 (its like 30 miles of freshly paved super twisties) so i found a a huge sloped horseshoe turn and we pulled over to take a couple more runs at it and get some pics draggin knee ( i had drug knee twice on that turn that day) well i came around the turn first (camera waiting) and layed it down a little too far and slid about 20 feet off the road in to a ditch. my bike held together well (sucks (it was a mint 04 636) the only things that broke were the left front peg and my rear seat faring cap. but the whole left side of my bike is pretty much scratched all to hell. i was out there for five more days after that and still went on two 5 hour rides with only one turn signal and half a front peg. i had to take advantage of the highways out there i couldn't let not being able to get parts get in my way. oh and as far as me i got a little road rash! one elbow, my hip is one big bruise, and from my knee to my ankle is all rashed and bruised. not to bad for a helmet and gloves besides that i was wearing jeans a sweat shirt and some DC's!
so yeah, i will be looking for left side 03/04 636 parts!
i'm working on pics of the trip and the pic taken .5 second before i went down!
