Corbin seats-are they worth the money?
Re: Corbin seats-are they worth the money?
It depends... How much you ride, how sensitive your backside may be, and how much you have to spend are all important factors.
My Corbin (33K miles) is infinitely superior to the stock seat which lasted a measly 15K miles.
When I bought mine, Sargent was an unknown quality. Now, I'm hearing they're "better" than Corbin. I'm sure there are other small companies and local upholstery shops that can do as good a job.
Your best bet, in my opinion, is to ask around to see if anyone in your area has the seat your looking for, and see if they'll let you borrow one for short trip. The major drawback to this is that Corbin claims 1-2K miles of "break-in" time. I took to mine immediately, but the stock padding had worn to nothing.
Sorry I don't have a definitive answer, but seat comfort, like looks, is VERY subjective.
