I just bought a 99 zx-9r for $2800 and all it needs is the front and both mid fairings. It has chrome on kick stand, pegs, brackets, clip-ons, forks, wheels, and the tank u name it. The frame and swingarm are polished. I know who owned before so I know how it was ridden. so what do u guys think good deal or no.

Not a bad deal for a '99.
Only bad thing about that bike is that the '98-'99s subframe is welded to the main frame. '00 and newer and '97 and older the subframe bolts on which is nice should you wreck and tweak the sub and wanna replace it.
I have alot of parts for that bike so hit me up if you need some stuff.

U call it bullshit I call it the truth. My friend larry had it and wrecked it doing a wheelie, put it on it's side. That's why the pic looks like it does cause i just took a pic today and i new someone was going to call that out. Well the pic looks like the bike is tore down and it is. I just bought a new upper fairing stay, headlight switch, left side peg bracket, brakes, tires, u name it so now i can put all newshit on it. All i need now is front upper fairing and the 2 mids which hopefully i can find used cause i'm painting it Subaru WRX blue when i get the fairings. When i get that **** i'll post the new pics and prove it. No haten here i just want everyone to know it's true. I wasn't to sure cause i'm new to this but have always been around bikes and the group so now i'm stepping up and doin my thing. As far as a deal goes i've held off for 8 months to find the right bike and deal. I love hondas and wouldn't mine having 1 but I like the way the zx-9r's run and everything about them. I've rode other bikes before but can't pass up the deal. Maybe next season i'll upgrade to a honda 929 or 954 who knows. thanks for the replys and hope to see more. :YEAH

ooops my bad i didn't see it that good i guess. Well sorry about the b-**** but thanks for the replys and i know about the subframe and i hate that. I do wish that it was a bolt on but oh well.

My freind just bought a 99 zx9r a few minutes ago, is there anything in particular we should watch out for? the guy gave him a 15 day warranty and said if anything breaks, take it back to him. It has 35k on the clock but is all polished, blue, full exhuast, k&n, tinted windscreen, and some other here and there things, got it for 4k, is that good bad? lemme know, im in the dark about older kawis.

Good bike overall, nothing to speak of that you need to watch out for. It has some power and can be twitchy on 1 wheel, not as bad as what I hear of the R1s but still, a bit twitchy.
Like I said eariler, only thing with a '98 or '99 is that they have the subframe welded to the main frame so it isn't as easy to swap out if you tweak it bad.
I have a rear green rim in great condition if anyone is interested, as well as some other parts that I will be starting to get rid of by spring.

Yeah the ZX9 is a good overall bike except for what Anthony mentioned about the 98-99 subframe. Mine has probly between 15-20,000 miles on it(not exactly sure speedo has been unhooked for a long time) and it still runs strong.

Yeah I hate how those ****en subframes are but i'll just deal with it. I plan on getting a ohlims damper but that'll be mid summer. My friend kelly has an 01 zx-9r and he said it's great but $500 is alot right now when i need other ****. Anthony u got a pm for the parts and if anyone has some stuff let me know. About ur friend that just got the 99 zx-9r congrats :YEAH and hope he likes it. I dunno know if it's a good deal cause the miles on it. Around here in the midwest I see those bikes with a couple of scatches and mods with 15k go for $5000-$5500 so i'd say it was straight but thats my .
Mine has 12k on it and for mods it has full yoshamira RS-3 exhaust and K&N kit plus lots of chrome all brackets, forks, wheels, tank etc. frame and swingarm polished but it needs front and mid fairings for $2800. I'd say the fairings used for $200-$350. but I'm not sure. Good luck to ur friend and one wheel up to everyone when i get it back together. Thanks to all :YEAH

Thanks for the info, I rode it lastnight.Man, Im used to my 600,that thing kept spining through 4th gear, which is the gear i let off in lol.Its over a nice bike, it has enkie wheels, polished everything, the paint is sweet. I think he got a ok deal on it.It rolls some nice stopppies to,Which i wasnt sure it would do cuase of the weight, gotta love them kawi brakes!
