I helmet is clean. I try not to touch the snell as finger prints bug the **** out of me. My shield is still scratched up from my crash though, never got around to changing it, there're also a few scratches from when it fell off my bike.

Having a crap shield comes with the territory. You get all them Ohio bugs hitting it all the time.

OK.. Honestly this works GREAT.. Fill the bathtub(about a little less than half way full) with water and laundry detergent... stick the whole helmet in there and wash the inside.. sqeeze the inside with your hand to get out the excess water.. Then sit it on top of a bucket over night to dry.. And for you EXTRA nasty smelly people, let your helmet soak in the water over night... Trust me.. It works...!!! I also keep a few coats of wax on my helmet

My problem is, I have a tinted shield and I have to leave it up when I ride at night. Nasty little Florida bugs seem to make their way inside my helmet. One time I was riding and a huge *** bug hit me in the eye causeing my eye to look pretty bad for a couple of days. I don't really have a problem with my helmet being smelly, at least it doesn't smell to me. I hate bugs though, they hurt like a *****' if they hit you right!!

Especially on occasion when you get to swallow one too. I think that sucks worse..
