Where can I look up a V.I.N to make sure the bike isn't stolen or has a jacked title?

 

usually on the frame, sometimes on the forks up top and sometimes on the frame

I think there are 2 per bike

No, I have the number. Who or where do I look it up at to get the history?

 

Believe it or not, your local PoPo can check the VIN to see if it's stolen or anything. Just call them up or stop by and ask them.

 

only problem with that is if its stolen you will be out of a bike and possibly charged

If the bike is stolen, of course they'll take it away. But if he checks ahead of time, we won't get in any trouble and won't lose anything out of it. Compare that to buying stolen property, knowingly or unknowingly.

 

if you dont like cops as much as me you can call the manufacturer. honda, suzuki, yamaha, ect. you can get the number from thier site. ive called honda a couple times.

 

If I didn't buy it yet then I would definatley call the police with it. They will have the most recent info on the what-ifs on it. Who do you think The car fax and others get their info from? Nobody reports there stuff stolen to the Manufacturer or anyone else. Car Fax only gets the stolen and illegal info from the public record made by the law enforcement....

 

ummm accually its all in the same data base. if a vin # is reported stolen then they all have the same info. the po pos are slower then most. everyone would like to think that the cops have the best info but, no. but f- it, call em all.

 

Go to a payphone, call them and if they say stolen, Hang up the phone and haul ***!
