19... i wanted one forever. my dad got me into dirtbikes when i was like 11 so wanting a sportbike was kinda inevitable. but my parents told me that i couldnt have one. i told them i was going to buy one anyway. my dad said if i got one i couldnt live at home anymore. i told him "fine, ill get one and keep it at a friends house then". he said NO YOU WONT. this was a few years ago probably. every so often i told them i was going to get one. this past year i went out and got one, and kept it at my ex's sister's house. parents didnt know all summer, but i told them a while ago and theyre actually letting me keep it at home, and not somehow forcing me to sell it!

I have been riding dirtbikes since I was 14. Sold my last dirtbike at age 18. Started off with a CR125 and ended with a CR250. Rode my friends 01' CBR F4 at the age of 24 and bought my first sportbike (97 Katana 600) 5 months later and I am still 24 will be 25 in Jan. So I guess I got started pretty late on the sportbikes. I am still getting the feel for it. I am ready for a better bike now so I guess I need to start saving my pennies, but until then I am going to ride the hell out of what I got now

sounds like what my dad said, but i got one anyways. when i got it he told me that he would teach my how to ride it like he was a pro or something, lol. then he got all serious and told me that if he seen or even heard of me speeding or stunting he would kick me out of the house.

Whaaa, seems like many of you guys started riding sportsbikes early

I first rid a Suzuki TS 125 when I was 13, then got the KX at 17 when I also tested a 600 CBR

Now I'm 22 and still riding this ninja 500, just because of insurances didn't want me to insure a sportsbike unless I got 1 year of insurance on a road bike

I'm not sure yet!

I'd prefer to try a Supermoto, like 650 KLX stuff like this...

Less expensive and easy wheelies and stoppies
