just got dome dealing with johnny law when he knoced at my door a couple minutes just need this thread to vent my frustration so dont read on if you dont want to....anyway i was just on my home from bike night at hooters when me and my boy with a d&d pipe(they suck for stunting because they are loud as ****) got blue lighted. we both split and i got chased to the spot i always run to, a trail through the woods that leads to my crib. anyways the cop at my door asks for licencee and registration for my bike and so i play studpid and am like what is this all about. he takes me outside saying he doesnt want everybody to hear my business and then he drives me to my bike to get my registration out of the trunk. on the way he tries to get me to admit to running and doing wheelies and this and that but i dont say ****. he dont got **** on me so then him and his cop buddies who are all huddled around my bike try to trick me. they say that with my tag being mounted under my tail they can give me a ticket right there if i dont at least tell them who i was with when i ran cause he split too. well to make a long story not quite as long, they give me a week from today to find out the other guys licencse plate number and give it to them. they say if it is not the same bike that they chased they will write me a ticket for everything they can. what should i do cause i dont want to me a narc but i dont want to get a bunch of bullshit tickets either! any legal experts or someone that know their **** please help me out here cause i know we all hate johny law and hes got me stuck in between a rock and a hard place right now.

 

they aint got ****. Period. No more.

if they didnt do **** to you right then and there, no tickets, no arrest, they aint got ****. If they didnt get his plate from him runnin, how are they gonna know if its the right one? How are they gonna come by in a week and write you tickets for **** that happened now? Just go out to your bike tommorrow mount the plate legally, and go on your marry way. Just remember now, the cops obviously know who you are, with or without your plate #. So they are gonna be out to get you, for a illegally mounted plate, 2 over the limit, whatever. So just watch yourself, and THEY AINT GOT ****.

ah ex post facto, good call bro. they cant give me a ticket for something that happened in the past can they now? haha now i just gotta find a new place to park my bike cause i cant afford to put insurance on it yet

I had a cop say some crap after I got into an accident. The rookie forgot to give me the ticket and tried to come back later. I am sorry but that is gone in the pasy. They can't do nothing now. Then it will conflict with their records and when the superiors read through the reports he'll be alerted to the nonsense. You see if he writes the report this day, and it happened a few days ago, then the senior officer will be like" Why didn't you put this in before? " And think that officer is about bad news and may be making up stuff on other reports just to look good and the senior will be on his *** checking everything and everyday out. The only way around that is if someone turns themselves in. That is voluntary. Then they can "reopen" a file based off of admission. If they have no proof and you don't admit. They are screwed and lost it and wasted a few dollars in gas .....

But like he said. They are going to be watching you. They know who you are, and what you look like.....

Be safe out there. Ten you can be sure of them giving you a ticket for the littlest BS. But better than eluding and wreckless driving........

 

Yea dude i think it'd be a good idea to go over your bike and make sure everything is as by-the-books legal as it can be (do you still have your stock can?) and also look at the week that the cops gave you as being to your advantage. Use it to think up of exactly how to word your response to them when they come around. So you sound smooth about it and not intimidated by them, even if you are a little nervous. Dont let 'em talk you into narcn' out your boy either. I guess bottom line here is you won, the cops lost on this one and they have a hard time living it down so they come around again lookin to ticket you. Even if they do end up issuing you tickets i'm sure there's any number of lawyers around that will tell you if you have a case or not, with no charge unless you do. I'da ran from the cops too man FTP. Good luck.

 

I dont think you have anything to worry about but there is a statute of limitations on crimes and they can charge you later. I agree that they are just bustin your ***** with the one week crap. Just remember you have the right to remain silent, USE IT. Even if you told the cops about your friend they would charge you anyway so you might as well not talk and make their case for them. It sound to me like they dont have a case against either of you. Beleive me if they did you would have had som shiney new handcuffs on.

 

Yeah not to go on about the same answer YOUR OK!! But here is my story that is pretty much the same and ill tell you the out come.

Ok I was on the road that merges onto another road as it curves around. There was a stop light to right of me where the cop was sitting (i didnt have to stop) i came around the corner and punched it and the front end came up like 6 inches at the most. Anyways the cop seen me and followed me for like 2 miles and really close too, I got to the point where I was getting pissed and would turn my head around and tell him to back off. He didnt back off so about 300 feet in front of me was a stop light, it turned yellow and I hammered it (i was frusterated) and made the light barely and the cop stopped at the light and hit the sirens. There was no way I was gonna stop now, since i was less than a mile from home. So i made a right down the street and by the time the cop did i was like 100 feet from my house. I parked my bike and put a tarp over it and walked inside. And watched his punk *** drive by really slow. So a few days pass and I decide to go ride for a bit. Im riding maybe 100 feet from home and BAM!!! I get pulled over by the same ******** cop. He says "Well Well Well!!!, Looks like i got you this time." I say " what do you mean?" Anywasy hes looking at my bike all over trying to find something wrong and goes, " can you start it up please?" I do and he says "ok turn it off" Your pipe is too loud" I say "umm no its not" (its a D&D) and i tell him as a harley drives by "that pipe is too loud" He says "Well, i could give ya a ticket still for eluding me a few days ago, and one for your pipe." I then start to laugh at him and say I did nothing wrong today or a few days ago sir". But then my girls dad drives by and stops to get out (hes a lawyer) he goes to me and says you OK? I say yes and all that and explain to him what the cop said and the cop kinda gets all uncomfortable and denies most of it and tells me to have a nice day. My girls dad said there is no possible way they can do that unless it has to deal with a murder or something. But not running from a cop. And when I did run he didnt even try to get my plate number so was odd too he said.

So anyways dude your safe. Just laugh at them when they try and pin bullshiot on you. Dont be too cocky cause you'll just egg them on but tell them you talked to a lawyer and thats what they said. Im sure its pretty much the same in each state. Ok man sorry for the long *** post be safe and good luck!

 

i'm agreein with the fella's on make sure ur bike's legal... pipes.. insurance, etc.. cause they are gonna be lookin for you now.

im suprised this day didnt happen sooner to tell the truth. the cops last night knew i was breaking the law and am right now for that matter with a stock pipe gutted, one of these eclipse license plates, no insurance, no mirrors, turn signals, mp3 player, fuzz buster, etc., etc. FTP like you said bro they really did though give me a break cause i talked bikes with em previously. the sergeant has an r1 and one of the lady cops has a hog. they just said not to show my *** when i ride and also, the bad part is that even though i didnt admit to even riding my bike that night the big cop there told me if i didnt get my buddies plate # to them after bike night next week that he would come looking for me. what a bitch!

You shouldn't even have to ask if you should bust out your boys. If they're gonna give you tickets if you dont', then take the fukin tickets. If you give in then your a chump and it will definately come back to haunt you with a serious *** kicking.

Ok...Well, laws are different everywhere you go. And YES, they can give you tickets later and they will stick, "Pending Investigation" becuase there were other factors involved. I dont know how they are in N.C. but play it safe and take it easy. A lot of Cops around my parts ride sportbikes so they are not stupid about identifying bikes. If ya get yanked over, just be polite and not an *ss. Im not saying kiss their *ss or anything, just be polite. But lets be real here. They did cut you a break - you didnt get locked up and you still have your bike. They didnt pull your license, they didnt give you any repair orders for your tag (all fender eliminators are illegal in maryland.) So, chalk it up as a default. I doubt they are going to come back. if they do, they will probably tell you to tell your boy to calm it down and they are watching for him. But remember, Jumpout squad is a bitch. And remember - eluding is a FELONY. Also, In Maryland, if you run, they can charge you with Reckless endangerment of everyone involved ( If there are 5 cops chasing you, that's 5 counts!)

But, you should be OK. The worst is over. They probably didnt want the paperwork. But they could have..
