Cheapest Insurance

Before i get my bike i want to find a place that will offer me enough insurance at a good price. Let me know any good places you have heard of or are currently with. also, how much do you pay every year.

my dmv abstract is about 5 pages long. i've had a valid license about 6 out of a possible 17 years. i pay about 150 a year for liability. i think they wanted 6500 for full coverage for a 9000 dollar bike. insurance companies suck.

thanks, the thing that is going to hurt me is my age. I don't think "cheap insurance" and "20 yrs old" can ever be in the same sentence.

i have a perfectly clean record, couple close calls but off with warnings by some crazy luck. any how yah, check state farm for sure, sometimes they can be picky and say that you have to have homeowners or some car insurance through them also but i dont have eaither, and i got it pretty cheap so check them out for sure

just went thru all this in Sept. Bought a pimped out '92 ZX7r.
Geico (car an truck insured w/them) told me they wouldn't insure it cause of the age of the bike. started checkin progressive, etc..

I posted the same question an got a number of responses to check out State Farm.

State Farm the cheapest bike quote i got ($600/year), but they wouldn't open a policy on just a bike... sooooooooo.. i moved my car an truck over there an got a cheaper rate for them as well.

happy huntin

i think that progressive ****s you, b/c it is all done by computers. I think if you actually call up and talk to someone you can get lower rates. I don't want minimum coverage though b/c you won't have enough insurance if you do get hurt.
