I just did it, what you have to do is get a machinist to cut and reweld the front frame mounts up and more forward to fit the 750. What I did was put the engine in with the bottom too mounting points and let the welder just relocate the tabs while the engine was still in the frame so that he knows the exact location of the hole. Good luck, make sure you have the whole other wire harness, and computer to make it work.

Do just like bunarocket says.. I have done the same thing and thats exactly what I did when I did mine... Here are some pics to help illustrate the differences...

The first two pics show what the stock 600 frame looks like with a 750 motor bolted in. As you can see the front motor mounts are barely off. Once you get the 750 bolted in using the back engine mounts, take it to the shop, have em cut the mounts off, shave em and weld them back on.

They make plates to fit the 1000 motor in the 750 without any cutting modifications. Lee Racing I believe out of south carolina???

I've heard the risk of running the 1000 in the 600/750 frame is that being a 1000 bike, it has a beefier frame. Just curious

Did you get that 750 ironed out?

cruisererik, you are right, but all you gotta do is check for cracks every couple weeks and get it welded up if you find any. I dont think its the motor that cracks em its wheelies. Suzuki knows that the 1k is the ultimate squidbike and that its hard not to wheelie and folks are gonna mousetrap it alot. I seriously doubt they reinforced the frame for other reasons. But who knows.

meacham, it was.. but what else is there to do on a rainy day?

anyone: I am still lookin for the web addy for the joint that makes the brakes to drop a 1k in a 750 frame.
