well i always wore shorts, tshirt, tennis shoes, my lid and some dirtbike gloves. well i just took a spill at 100 mph doing a 3rd gear standup on my 929. thankfully i had on my leather jacket and jeans this time. the jeans ripped through my right knee and i got pretty bad road rash but if i had on tshirt and shorts and i would probably have not walked away. so i suggest atleast jeans and and a leather jacket and gloves and helmet. and i live on the gulf of mexico and know how hot it can get but your skin is worth alot more
I always wear my helmet and jacket when I stunt, jeans and gloves included. Jeans are ok protection wise in a slide, not really an impact on a smooth surface.......rougher roads eat them away pretty quick(Yes, experience on a smooth one thankfully). Nothing is 100%, but the more you wear, the better it gets.
I wear Leather jacket, Speedrag Tech. pants, gloves , work boots and my lid.
I took a 80-90mph spill in jeans, tank top, and sneakers. Learned my lesson.
Road rash on both knees, Right arm, shoulder, and back. Fractured elbow and wrist.

I couldn't agree more with the previous opinions. After over a decade on a bike, and unfortunately after as many spills. I have never, and will never ride w/o my gear: 1.4mm double-stitched leather jacket, full-length gloves, helmet and at least jeans. I live in Florida and it is ridiculously hot, but I don't even consider it an option to go w/o. Once you get hurt enough you will most probably never ride again w/o protection (if that's what you call leather), but why learn the hard way? I honestly feel naked w/o my gear.
I cant top some of the other stories but ill try.
Took a pavement ride in shorts, shirt, tennis shoes, and a lid,55or65mph. When the ride was over Ive got 3 pins in my foot, roadrash all over and rash so bad on my right hand, I left the ligaments to my thumb on the road, and i have no function in it. When im able to ride again, full leather gear no matter if its 100 degrees. I suggest u do the same. Im FUC@!#& serious dipshit.

depends on where i'm ridin. gloves always.. lid's are optional here, an i got all side streets to the j-o-b.. so if it's nice i don't wear it. anywhere near the highway i got it on.. an some solid shoes. (dont' like the racin boots)
if ur askin bout wearin ridin pants bein dorky, personally, i like some racing pants or plain leathers.

Arai helmet, Icon gloves or joe rockets cuz theyre cheap. Usually just wear lugs or sometimes if im really serious, my Super Techs. I wear a armored jacket when its cold or when I'm doing faster rides. Otherwise, for slow stuff, or just cruising, I wear a hooded sweatshirt.
