Raced a Vette

On my way home from my gf house I had a little race with a vette. We weaved in and out of a few cars and then when we cleared the traffic I smoked him up till about 135mph, then I let him beat me. I don't see very well in the dark and we were coming up on traffic again. I'm sure he didn't care, felt nice and safe inside his damn cage.

I kinda ride like a b*tch too sometimes not really cause I'm afraid of getting hurt mostly because I'm afraid of becoming some mangled up paralyzed person

My piece of sh*t HJC helmet always feels like its about to pop of my head whenever I get up over 110mph. It pushes back to where my nose is mashed against the damn visor. Its not too big either, I think HJC's just suck might be time for me to upgrade to Shoei or Arai. I almost wrecked my bike one other time when I was going about 90mph and looked over my shoulder to check traffic and the visor flew up.

You need a faster bike and a new lid playa. I am aware of the advantage cars have with the top speed aerodynamics and more tourqe to push them down the road at high speeds but I have never had a car come close to beating me. I have put $100 down on that sh*t twice now. A viper and a Supra. My gsxr 1000 with all the goodies is 2 for 2. who wan test. I am in Colorado waitin with my money in hand.

i love hjc helmets... i have a few of them ....

i raced a vette once, actually i was on my way up to fortcollins doing about 90 to 100 and this vette flew by me

i caught up to him at around 120, and thats when he noticed me, he just put it down and lost me.... it was kinda cool actually...

i hung in for another 10 or 15 mph or so but after that he was just gone ...

btw, this was not on my kaw

Yea, I agree with Hondafan....HJC is a good helmet for the price! Probably the reason it tries to fly off your head is because it doesn't fit you. Get a helmet that fits! And PLEASE.....a corvette will not touch a bike unless it has a bunch of goodies under the hood....they only run 0-60 in 4.9....thats fast for a car...but doesn't touch a bike!

are you talking about the the vette that i was? if so, you are probably right, i was kinda new to riding at the time but all i know is that we were going fast and i stopped racing at around 135 or 140 (indicated)... it might have had something done to it, who knows

My helmet fits perfect. My gf even tried telling me she thought it was too tight. I never have any other problems with the helmet until I get up over 110 or so. Then its like mashed against my nose.

I mean I could get a tighter helmet then I'm going to be uncomfortable all the time except for the 5% of the time I'm riding over 100mph. For all the rest of the riding I do my helmet fits snug doesn't move around at all.

I thought it had something to do with the vents or airflow cutting over the helmet.

well it could be an older helmet, I know that the older ones...and the KBC's didn't do well in the aerodynamics field! so my suggestion would be...dont get a KBC or an older helmet period.

I was probably going alot faster than I thought, I don't really look down at the speedo when its dark out and I'm going that fast. I like to keep my eyes on the road ahead of me.
