03s R1 vs 954 vs suk 1000

I am looking more toward the 954 simply cause I know honda is great quality and it looks better. I am wondering what are some oppinoins on the 3. I like wheelies (I am not good at them) but I like them. Ppl say "if you like wheelies then get the 54" Doesn't the 54 have the least HP of the 3? Why get it then? Wouldn't you want the one with the most HP to pull the tire off the ground? Basically I just want to on off on a 2 or 3rd gear wheelie. I know the 1000 will do it but I just don't like the looks of the suks, I think its the headlight. Either way what do you guys think?

i think if this is your first bike you are in some trouble. you should get a 600 to start out. learn your bike before you begin to do stupid ****. example. about tne of my friends got bikes this year. all of them went out & tried to wheelie as soon as they got thier bikes. now only 3 of them have bikes that work. so if you are planning on stunting then you should get an older bike. maybe a 900rr or a gsxr1000 if you are stuck on the 1000. but you should seriously consider getting a 600 like an f4i or even a 750 if you dont want a 600. u should learn to clutch it anyways and if you get bigger sprockets the 600 will respond the same as the bigger bikes. dont be a squid, learn how to ride the bike completely before tryin to stunt. sorry for sounding like your mom but i hate to see people get hurt or waste money. late

i have a 954 and love it it wheelies so nice in first comes up real smooth if your gental with the throttle , second i can bring up if im staning with no clutch. im working on clutchin 2nd now i think it is a very good bike i hear hondas are bullit proof . it does have a lil less power than the other 2 but 138 i belive isnt bad . nbut do your self a favor if this is your first bike get a 600 or 750 dont waste money on a bike thats too big and cost too much most people drop there first bike any way

HONDA is #1, its the only bike I dont see come into my shop, because they are bullitproof, if you want to have your bike in the shop all the time buy an r1, a few trannies, clutches and crankes and you can stunt that.. the gixxers are cool but there cookie cutter bikes and they have problems to. change oil and tires and the honda will last forever

Looks like its going to be the 954 for me. I have one other question. Am I goign to be able to on off on a 2nd gear wheelie? Or even 3rd. How does the power feel different? What do you mean?

The 954 has way more hp than you need to stunt. I hava 954 and there is no starving for power there especialy if this is your first bike. I dont like the R1 beacuse there is less room for error when it comes to the ballance point and I dont like Suzuki beacuse they cant seem to build a frame that wont crack after a while.

...

I loved my f4i...it was just way too custom(pretty) to stunt. I had it down 1 in front and can pull 2nd gear wheelies for a long time.

I'm a faithful clutch user, all the time. 1st, 2nd , or 3rd gear. I don't like power wheelies.

i agree with gsxr7502001 if this is your first bike.
However, i have had experience on all three bikes and in the end i found they are very close in performance, although the R1 and Gixxer have that extra edge but the Gixxer having the most grunt of all. My personal choice is the R1 because of it's frame and style, i feel great on the bike. So it is up to you. If you feel right on it and comfortable than thats your bike, they all do great wheelies.

I'm sure I'm gonna get flamed but I'll give you my opinion anyway. I have always been a honda man. Bled red the whole thing, untill I rode my buddies 2001 GSXR-1000. Looks aside, there is nothing else out there like it. I have spent a lot of time in the saddle of all three bikes you have mentioned. They are all great bikes but for easy power wheelies the Big Gix is definately your baby. I am no hardcore stunter but I do love wheelies. I could do moderate wheelies until I bought my 02' Gix 1K after that I became the wheelie king. The 1K has a very nice balance point and power delivery. It comes up with ease in 2nd gear around 7500 rpm with just throttle. If you want a wheelie machine get the gix. I never had problem one with my 02' or my 03'. I beat on em' both pretty good. If you stay current with your maintenance whatever you buy will last you.

Check it out, captain. I know people that can bounce an R6 up in 3rd gear. A lot of it is rider, suspension settings, seating position, technique, etc. Even weight. If you only weigh 130, it'll wheelie a lot easier than if you weigh 280. My 96 900RR wheelies on just wide open throttle (though this may not be the best way to do it) in first. It can be bounced up in second with the on/off. I should mention that it has a few mods and is 1 tooth down. But I'm pretty sure one that's stock would do the same. Based on how much better the 954 is (horsepower, etc.), I'm sure it'll on/off in second and prob would in 3rd if you were good. If it's not easy enough, then gear it. You don't need the top end anyway. Hondas are user friendly and easy to stunt. It's not even a question in my mind which bike you should get. Coming from the F4i, you won't even know what to do with the extra power The honda will definitely have a wider balance point than the yammi. I don't know about the gixxer. Course, the gixxer looks like all the other gixxers (600, 750). hope this helps.

Well I can wheelie my f4i in 1st. Need practice in 2nd with the bouncing on the pegs crap. Once I get the wheel up I can ride it out pretty good. I would rather have a liter bike that will pull it up in 2nd or 3rd. I have heard the 54 will and won't. I would think so since my friends 750 would in 2nd. Course I weigh 190 and he weighs 175. I don't know much about liter bikes and their power.

I have rode a few bikes as well.. i stunt a GSXr750, 1000 is stupid power.. on the 954 i have found plenty of head shake coming down from wheelies.. ALOT, i have had head shake ONE TIME on a gsxr and it wasn`t even mine, R1.. un stable, rode 99,00,01 and 02 R1`s.. all the same. look good, good power, but very unstable, i don`t think i`ve seen but a few stunt those anyways..... i`ve noticed for stunting, majority are set on GSX-R`s and Hondas.. few Kawai`s... but i see the majority of stunts done on GSX-R`s... don`t compare the 954 to the gsxr 1000, hands down bro, gsxr all the way, compare the R1, 954 wiff da baby GSX-R 750, cause that lil 750 is in that class, the 1000 is in a class of it`s own!
Decide what type of riding you`ll be doing. if stuntin ALOT, GSX-R, if neutral and all around riding hit a few wheelies here and there, HONDA, can`t beat`em up, they last to damn long... myself, i don`t care how much maint. i have to do, for now, will never go anywhere but GSX-R regardless of size, THEY ROCK!

here is the thing. All I want to do is twist the wrist and the front tire comes off the ground in 2nd or 3rd.

I promise if thats all you really care about get the 1K. The 954 does not even compare. 900's and 929's are easier to wheelie than the 954. The 954 is not as stable and the balance point is very small. Throttle response is a lil choppy too. 1K, 1K, 1K! If you don't and you ride one later you will kick yourself.
